Suvorovskaya Stop Project

Teachers of the department and students majoring in "Tourism" and "Hotel and restaurant business" participate in the educational project "Stop Suvorov: rethinking the street space", initiated by the NGO "Global View" with grant support from the European Union ("House of Europe" program).
It provides for interdisciplinary interaction and is focused on the formation of competencies of future professionals involved in the development of modern urban space - architects, designers, hospitality professionals and others.
The main goal is to develop innovative solutions for the development of public space on the first pedestrian street of Kherson. Collaboration with a Polish urban planner (Pavel Jaworski) and local experts (local historians and architects) helps the participants to develop modern design projects for Suvorova Street, taking into account its historical background.
During the first stage of the project - local history studies - its participants with the help of teachers O. Makienko and E. Sidorovich were able to get acquainted with the history of the street and the cultural traditions of the "Suvorov public".
Currently, work is underway on writing, design and presentation of youth projects for the arrangement of Suvorova Street, which will help turn it into a comfortable and convenient place for recreation of Kherson residents and guests of our city.
