The chair of choreography began its activity in September, 24 1999. The head of the department is the honoured worker of culture of Ukraine V.Tchuba.
The teachers of the chair realize a qualified specialists’ training oriented on choreography. Some choreographic collectives, such as theatre of dancing “Ladovitsa” (art director is the senior teacher of the department of choreography V.Vasyak), ensemble of modern ballroom dances (directors are I.Bondarenko, O.Fokyna), ensemble of classic dances “Divertissement” (art director is the senior teacher of the department of choreography I.Tchavyna), ensemble “Tchybaryky” (art director is the honoured worker of culture of Ukraine V.Tchuba) work under their direction.
Scientific-methodic work of the staff is directed on compiling of manuals, study aids, methodic recommendations on Ukrainian fold dances, classic dances, methods of choreographic disciplines teaching, etc.
Student’s collaboration in creative labs at the establishments of general and profile education is one of the aims of scientific work.
The festival of choreographic mastery of collectives from the South of Ukraine “Lel’nyk” is hold annually in KSPU by common efforts of the staff of Artistic and Pedagogical Faculty.
