Y. Lomonosova

Yuliya Lomonosova, a student of the Computer Science specialty, went to study in Austria in October 2018.

Preparation for departure lasted a very long time and was not easy at all. To begin with, it was necessary to pass a contest. Then, which was even harder, to book accommodation in Austria and to get a visa. But it was all worth it, of course.

At the University of Alpen-Adria, she studied the following subjects:
  • English (teacher was originally from Australia - Native Speaker).
  • German language course, level B1.
  • Web technologies (this course teaches how to make websites. HTML, CSS, etc.).
  • Statistics.
  • Logical programming.

The internship lasted 4 months. In early February 2019, the girl returned to Ukraine.

Yuliya enjoyed being in Austria. She traveled a lot, was in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg, Venice, and Paris. She thinks that it's impossible to learn a lot about the world while sitting at home.

During your stay there you can learn foreign languages, English and German very well. In addition, you can meet other people from different countries and learn about new cultures. This experience can't be compared to anything else.

In October 2019 Yuliya went to the country for permanent residence.

In 2017, thanks to the cooperation of Kherson State University and the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk, four students of our faculty, Yulia Lomonosova, Kyrylo Valiaiev, Vladyslav Shkvorets, Oleksandr Hordovenko were able to go to study in Poland.

Yulia Lomonosova, a second-year computer science student, underwent an internship during the first semester of year.

During it, she studied 3 programming languages: C++; C#; Visual Basic and 3 foreign languages: English, German and Polish.

English is taught at a high level and the subject is given only by it, but slowly and legibly to make it clear to all students. There is a division into groups. One topic is discussed at each pair, and students are asked to write homework. German was a new language for our student, but she started studying it enthusiastically. Polish became like a third native language.

Yuliya also studied "Introduction to Game Theory", and this is a very interesting subject. You need to calculate the best game options for each of the two players.

Discipline "Electronics and Electrical Engineering" - a theoretical subject. For the student, it was the most difficult, it's the same physics on the topic of "Electricity". In the electronics laboratory, they conduct experiments, measure the current, design with their own hands according to the scheme. The training took place in a group of 2 girls from Poland and one from Kazakhstan. It's nice that people of different nationalities can do something together and understand each other well.

Discipline "Physical Education" is a non-credit discipline, students are engaged "for themselves". There are free sections, such as table tennis, which Yuliya attends for free once a week. Our student has experience in such competitions, and she even beat the coach, so she will take part in future competitions.

Slupsk is very beautiful and clean city. Yuliya also visited Gdansk, Ustka (a small town on the sea near Słupsk) and Malbork (there is the largest medieval castle built of bricks by human hands). On the whole, she liked it very much. The first month passed very brightly and interestingly.

From October 2016 to January 2017 student of specialty "Computer Science" Andriy Bayev studied at Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt (Austria) under the exchange program.

Disciplines that he studied:
  • Fundamentals of robotics (Lecture Course)
  • Fundamentals of robotics (Practical Course)
  • Image Processing
  • Heuristic Search
  • Pervasive Computing
  • Business Informatics Seminar
  • German for Beginners

The university also has an information system that contains all the necessary information about classes, teachers, and services. The user's personal account is perfectly implemented in it, and all teaching materials on the subjects studied are available.

In his free time, the student went on excursions in Klagenfurt and nearby cities, took part in cultural exchange evenings, relaxed together with other international students.

During his stay in Alpen-Adria, Andriy got a lot of positive impressions, met a lot of interesting people from different parts of the world, expanded his knowledge of advanced IT technologies, and learned about the traditions of foreigners.

This year, students majoring in Software Engineering, Anastasiya Mazur and Zubriy Mykyta, studied at the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk (Poland).

According to the cooperation agreement between Kherson State University and the Pomeranian Academy (Poland), from February to June 2014, Oleksiy Pchelintsev, a second-year student of FFMI, majoring in "Software Engineering", is undergoing an internship. According to the cooperation agreement between Kherson State University and Alpen - Adria Klagenfurt, five students of our department studied abroad: Nataliya Bilohrud (specialty "Computer Science"), Pavlo Hryza (specialty "Computer Science"), Anatoliy Herashchenko (specialty "Computer Science"), Kristina Kopanyeva and Olha Plechiy (specialty "Information Technologies").

Nataliya Bilohrud underwent an internship from October 2013 to June 2014.

Student studied for a master's program for 2 semesters, where she studied courses Knowledge Engineering, Software Engineering, Semantic Web Technologies, Business Technologies, and others. Natalia participated in the Human Behavior Monitoring and Support (HBMS) project, the topic of the study “Schema integration for HCM-L”, was interesting in the summer school - “Next Generation Enterprise Modeling”, which took place from 7 to 19 June.

Students of 431 group, Khrystyna Kopaneva and Olha Plechiy underwent an internship from April 9 to 25. They studied at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, specialty "Information Technology".

The main purpose of the internship was to improve professional skills taking into account new achievements in science and technology, to deepen and update knowledge in special disciplines, active methods and new technologies of education, general culture.

During the time they visit disciplines: Network modeling, Wireless networks, Mobile networks, Adaptive and statistical signal processing, Artificial intelligence. In addition, there were participated in two scientific methodological seminars "Get to know EASTE" and "From menu selection to off-screen interaction with eight hundred seventy - two study participants".

It can be noted that the couple always has a friendly atmosphere. The auditoriums are equipped with new equipment and multimedia technologies and allow the teacher to demonstrate the lecture material. The international department of Alpen Adria University has accommodated female students, during their internship, in a comfortable hostel, and also provided a room in a four-star hotel in Vienna per day,

which allowed to see the cultural monuments of the city and get an unforgettable experience.

In 2009 three students of our department were studying abroad, Ihor Blynov (special "Informatics") and Olena Nadieieva (special "Computer Science") in Glasgow Caledonian University (Scotland), Vasyl Liutikov (special "Computer Science") in Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis (France).

Student Ihor Blynov was trained from January to May 2009. He worked in the laboratory of E-motion, led by Professor David Moffat. He worked on the research and development of embedded interactive agents. While working in this lab he collaborated with local laboratory staff. Also, he participated in the project of a colleague from Kharkiv, Alexis Madrichenko, who developed the drivers for sensors lifting motion of the human body. These sensors were used to create virtual rooms. The task was a part of a larger project. Special places in the respective laboratories and equipment necessary for work were provided during work on this project, as well as full access to the library and e-library. In free time the Student Bureau had always made it possible to take a guided tour of Scotland, by bus or train. Organization of leisure was held at the highest level by Student Bureau, led by Gary Brown.
