APPLICATION FOR AN INDIVIDUAL SCHEDULE

SCHEDULE POSITION ABOUT CONDUCTING A CITY COMPETITION

"PHYSICS AND LIFE - 2019"

 1. Purpose and main tasks of the competition

1.1. Develop talents, inclinations, abilities of pupils, students, satisfy their interests, spiritual needs and needs.

1.2. To form interest in studying physics and to popularize it in general educational institutions.

1.3. To promote the implementation of competence, personality-oriented and activity approaches in out-of-school and school education.

1.4. To promote the formation of the scientific worldview of students of secondary schools.

1.5. To improve work with children and youth in such areas as scientific and technical, research and experimental.

1.6. Create favorable conditions for updating the material, technical and educational base in the physics classrooms of secondary and out-of-school educational institutions.

1.7. Integrate elements of the educational process of out-of-school educational institutions into other components of the educational structure (schools, higher educational institutions).

1.8. Improve the conditions and mechanisms for obtaining extracurricular education in clubs, sections and other creative associations organized by secondary and specialized educational institutions.

1.9. To modernize extracurricular education in physics by improving, supporting and developing it in modern conditions, to create additional opportunities for spiritual, intellectual and physical development of persons wishing to obtain extracurricular education.

1.10. Promote the mass involvement of primary school students in extracurricular work in physics.

1.11. Promote the development of regional, interregional and international cooperation in the field of extracurricular education.

1.12. To promote the implementation of the State Targeted Social Program for the Development of Extracurricular Education for the period up to 2020 (CMU Resolution № 785 of August 27, 2016).

2. Organizing committee of the competition

2.1. The management of the city competition "Physics and Life-2017" (hereinafter the competition) is carried out by the Department of Education of the Kherson City Council.

2.2. The organizer and coordinator of the competition is the Department of Physics and its teaching methods at the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics of Kherson State University.

2.3. The general management of preparation and carrying out of competition is carried out by organizing committee which structure is confirmed by management of education of the Kherson city council.

2.4. The Organizing Committee has the right to enter into a cooperation agreement with the co-organizers of the competition, other legal entities and individuals in order to effectively organize, activate and stimulate the participants of the competition.

2.5. Organizational, scientific and methodological support, conducting and preparing for the competition and monitoring compliance with the requirements of this Regulation is provided by the organizing committee.

2.6. The organizing committee may include group leaders, teachers of secondary schools, teachers of higher educational institutions, methodologists.

2.7. In order to coordinate the preparation and holding of the competition, coordination seminars are organized.

3. Contest participants

3.1. Teams of 7th, 8th and 9th grades from secondary and out-of-school educational institutions of the city of Kherson are invited to participate in the competition.

3.2. Teams of 7th, 8th and 9th grades are formed of 3-4 students.

3.3. The team leader is a physics teacher, or a club leader.

4. The order of the competition

4.1. The competition includes: correspondence round, qualifying round and final.

4.2. Correspondence tour. Each team submits an application for participation (Appendix №1) to the organizing committee by October 31, 2016. The composition of the team is approved by the management of the educational institution.

4.3. Each team in the period from 1 to 14 November 2016 receives: recommendations for the organization of preparation of tasks for the competition, targeted criteria for evaluating completed tasks, the scenario of correspondence, qualifying rounds and finals in the district and regional stages.

4.4. Tasks (Appendix №2) must be completed and sent (paper and electronic version) to the organizing committee by March 1, 2017.

4.5. Evaluation of the results of the participants in the correspondence round takes place from 1 to 8 March 2017.

4.6. According to the results of the correspondence round, up to 6 teams of each age group are selected to participate in the qualifying round. Teams that have passed to the qualifying round are notified and sent invitations to further participate in the competition. (March 6-8, 2017)

4.7. Qualifying round. The Organizing Committee determines the time and place of the qualifying round separately for the teams of 7th, 8th and 9th grades and acquaints the participants with it.

4.8. The deadline for the qualifying round is from March 9 to 21, 2017.

4.10. The final will take place from March 23 to 31, 2017.

4.11. The Organizing Committee determines the time and place of the final competitions separately for the teams of 7th, 8th and 9th grades and acquaints the participants with it.

4.12. Announcement of results and determination of winners in the team standings takes place directly on the ground after the finals.

5. Content and structure of tasks.

5.1. Tasks are complex in nature, which include: compilation of tasks-works, manufacturing a product (working model, device, installation), preparation of interesting demonstrations.

5.2. The task is supposed to be performed by a group of 3-4 students of the appropriate age group.

5.3. The content of tasks is given in appendix №2.

5.4. The task is offered to be performed: in the classes of the circle and electives, during the period of educational practice and elective courses (elective courses), as an additional homework, independent work of the student, etc.

5.5. The report of the performed tasks takes place in the form of competitions with the corresponding stages.

6. Summarizing the results of the competition

6.1. The composition of the jury members of the competition for correspondence, selection round and final is approved by the order of the Department of Education of the Kherson City Council.

6.2. The jury consists of: teachers of physics of secondary schools, leaders of circles of physical and technical direction, methodologists on the subject, teachers of higher educational institutions.

6.3. Summing up is carried out after the correspondence round, the qualifying round and the final.

6.5. The decision of the jury at each stage of the competition is final and not subject to appeal.

6.6. The team championship in the correspondence round is determined by the results of the points obtained when checking the completed tasks by the commission established by the organizing committee (requirements and criteria for evaluating the paper version of the completed tasks will be added after the application). According to the best results, up to six teams of 7th, 8th and 9th grades are selected, which pass to the qualifying round. Competitions are held separately between teams of 7th, 8th and 9th grades.

6.7. Team championship in the qualifying round is determined by the number of points obtained for the presentation of the results of the competition tasks provided by this Regulation (presentation scenario for the qualifying round of the district and regional stage, requirements and evaluation criteria will be received by participants after application). Teams that took 1st to 4th place continue to compete in the finals.

6.8. Team championship in the finals among the participating teams is determined by the sum of points obtained for the presentation of the results of the competition, provided by this Regulation in the finals (presentation scenario for the finals of the district and regional stage, requirements and evaluation criteria will be added after application). The 1st, 2nd and 3rd places between the teams of 7th, 8th and 9th grades are determined.

6.9. The winner of the "Physics and Life" competition is determined among the teams that made it to the finals, according to the sum of points they scored in the qualifying round and finals.

6.10. If there are two or more applicants among the teams for a certain place in the qualifying round (final) for the final amount of points, a quiz is held for the applicant teams. 1 student from the team takes part in the quiz. The team that wins the quiz is considered the winner.

7. Rewarding of contest participants

7.1. Teams that took I, II and III places in the city competition are awarded diplomas from the Department of Education of the Kherson City Council.

7.3. Leaders of the winning teams are thanked by the organizers of the competition.

7.4. According to the results of the competition, a collection with all the works of the participants will be issued for the team leaders in order to use it in the educational process.

7.5. The works of the participants of the regional stage of the competition will be published in scientific and methodical journals "Physics in schools of Ukraine" and "Physics and astronomy in modern school.
