IRINA GAYDAYENKO    - Head of the Department of Linguistics, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor. She has been working at the department since 1997. In 2002 she defended her dissertation on the topic: "Names for the designation of taste: etymology, semantics, functioning". Since 2002 is the Head of the Department of Ukrainian Linguistics. I.V. Haydaenko teaches the following disciplines: “Stylistics of the Ukrainian Language”, “General Linguistics”, “Textual Studies”, “Linguistic Analysis of the Text”, “Cognitive Science and Concepts in Linguistics ". Manages master's, diploma and course work of students on problems of linguistics of text, cognitive semantics and stylistics.  She has 75 works, including textbooks and manuals (in co-authorship), methodical recommendations, scientific articles. She is one of the co-authors of the textbooks: “Ukrainian language: A textbook for upper secondary school students of non-philological profile and entrants” (K .: Lenvit, 2003), “Practicum on the
methodology of teaching the Ukrainian language” (K .: Lenvit, 2003, 2011 ), “Teaching Methods of Ukrainian Language in Secondary Educational Institutions: A Textbook for Students of the Faculty of Philology of Universities” (K .: Lenvit, 2005, 2010), “Native language” textbook for 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 grades (K .: Education, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011).

MARIYA PENTILUK  - Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Excellence in Education of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Chairman of the Specialized Academic Council of the University for the Protection of Candidate and Doctoral Theses. She has been working at the department since 1965. In 1996 she defended her doctoral thesis. In 1990, Maria Pentylyuk received the title of professor and became the first female professor at the institute. M.I .Pentylyuk supervises postgraduate and doctoral students at the department. M.I.Pentylyuk teaches the following subjects: “Methods of teaching Ukrainian in higher education institutions”, “Topical problems of school and university education in the  South”.
            Supervises the scientific work of students (course, diploma, master's) on linguistics and teaching methods of Ukrainian. The field of scientific interest includes the problems of linguistics, general linguistics, linguistic of general and higher education. Her scientific work includes more than 300 works, including monographs, textbooks and manuals: among them are monographs, textbooks and manuals for secondary schools of various types and high schools, programs, guidelines, dozens of articles. Native language textbooks for grades 5-8 and "Ukrainian language" for grade 9 took the third place in the competition among alternative textbooks announced by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. M.I. Pentylyuk manages a scientific laboratory on the problem of “Technology of teaching Ukrainian language in secondary and higher schools in the conditions of the southeastern region of Ukraine”. The department has a "Pentyluk M.I. School", which unites leading scientists-linguists of south-eastern Ukraine, young leading scientists-linguists of southeastern region of Ukraine, young researchers - PhD and PhD candidates. Since 2002 M.I. Pentylyuk has headed the specialized council for the protection of the candidate theses. Has trained 25 candidates and two doctors of pedagogical sciences. She was awarded  the Certificate of Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of the USSR, badges “Excellence of People's Education” and “Excellence of Education of Ukraine”, medal “Veteran of Labor”, medal “Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine”, numerous diplomas of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine and local authorities.

Tatyana Okunevich  - Deputy Head of the Department, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department. She has been working at the department since 1992. In 2003 she defended her thesis "Culture of the Language of the Future Teacher-Dictionary in the Conditions of Ukrainian-Russian Bilingualism" by T.H. Okunevych. "Culture of Ukrainian Assistant Professor directs coursework, diploma, masters’ works of students on problems of school linguistics and Ukrainian language. The sphere of scientific interests is connected with the issues of language culture of students-philologists and high school linguistics. publications, including articles, manuals, guidelines for students, and is a coauthor of a set of textbooks on teaching Ukrainian language.

MELKONIAN VALENTINA - Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Linguistics. She started working in 1971. Since 1974 she has been working at Kherson State University. She defended her Ph.D. thesis on the topic "Management of the process of understanding texts on a specialty at training reading". In 1988 she was elected as an associate professor. From 1992 to 2003 she was the Head of the Department of English and Teaching Methods. From 2003 till August 2011 she worked as an associate professor  at the department of the English language and teaching methods.She teaches the following subjects: "Practical English Course", "Theoretical English Course", "Methods of Teaching English", "Fundamentals of Scientific Communication in Foreign Languages", "Practical Phonetics of English". During the scientific activity
Melkonyan V.M. more than 45 scientific papers have been published in scientific and professional editions, including textbooks for students of HSE.

NADIA LEBEDEVA  - Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Linguistics at Kherson State University. Nadezhda Mikhailovna started working at Kherson State University in 1971 as a teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages. In 1978 she defended her PhD thesis, and in 1982 she received an associate's certificate. Since 1999 - Head of the Department of Foreign Language, and since 2010 - Assistant Professor of the Department of Romance-Germanic Philology, since 2016 Associate Professor of Linguistics.She teaches the following subjects: "Theoretical English Language Course", "Practical English Language Course", "Foreign Language", "UK and US Country Studies".

YULIA OMELCHUK  - Candidate of Philology, Senior Lecturer in Linguistics. In 2011, she graduated from Kherson State University, Institute of Philology and Journalism, majoring in “Pedagogy and Methodology of Secondary Education. Ukrainian Language and Literature ”and received the
qualification of a teacher of  the Ukrainian language and literature; teachers English and foreign literature. Since 2013 - Postgraduate student of the Department of English and teaching methods of the Faculty of Foreign Philology of KSU. Theme of dissertation research is: "Genre specificity of English-language feuilleton: linguostylistic and linguocultural aspects".  Her Scientific adviser is Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Glavatska Yu.L. Teaches such disciplines as: "Foreign Language (English)", "Business English", "Practical English Course", "Practical English Translation Course" and supervises students' courseworks.
