In 2011, the Department of Humanitarian and Organisational Work was reorganised into the Humanitarian Department. It is a structural unit of the university that reports directly to the Vice-Rector for International, Social, Humanitarian and Scientific and Pedagogical Work. The department includes an assembly hall and a recording studio.
Humanitarian activity is an important component of the educational process and is carried out on the basis of the Concept of National Education of Student Youth, developed by the Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on 25.06.2009, the Law ‘On Higher Education’ of 05.12.2012, the Constitution of Ukraine, the National Doctrine of Education Development of Ukraine in the XXI century of 17.04.2002, the Concept of Development of National Education of Student Youth at KSU, the Strategy of Social and Humanitarian Work of KSU, acts of the President of Ukraine on the provision and development of education, acts of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and the Law of Ukraine ‘On Higher Education’.
TASKS:
- Formation of key moral and ethical values in modern youth;
- National-patriotic awareness and a sense of civic duty;
- Respect for the Constitution of Ukraine, national symbols, and native language;
- Spiritual unity of generations;
- Foundations of morality, compassion, humanity, and tolerance;
- Promoting a positive image, corporate culture, and the maintenance and development of university traditions;
- Democratization of the educational process, collaboration with students and student self-government bodies;
- Development of cognitive interest and broadening of cultural and educational worldview;
- Creative self-realization, formation of stage culture, and support of student cultural and artistic initiatives;
- Fostering ecological awareness, promoting environmental protection, and engaging students in ecological and environmental activities;
- Building a system of knowledge about European and national education, global culture, based on national aesthetics and the best achievements of world art;
- Encouraging a responsible attitude toward personal health, the formation of healthy lifestyle skills and habits;
- Supporting the development of professional culture, cognitive interest, and readiness to apply knowledge, skills, and abilities in practical activities.
FUNCTIONS:
- Organizational: Planning of socio-humanitarian activities together with university structural units; cooperation with governmental, municipal, and public organizations, and educational-social structures.
- Coordinating: Ensuring interaction between structures involved in the educational process and coordinating their activities.
- Social: Providing socio-pedagogical support for students from social categories.
- Informational and Communicative: Informing students about their rights and social guarantees within the educational process.
- Predictive: Monitoring and identifying the interests, needs, and requests of student youth.
- Sports and Wellness: Promoting a healthy lifestyle.
