Project "Legal assessment of the events of the Holodomor-Genocide of 1932-1933 in the South of Ukraine" ("Legal assessment of events Famine-Genocide of 1932-1933 in the South of Ukraine"), prepared by scientists of the Faculty of History and Law of Kherson State University: Head of the Department , Candidate of Historical Sciences, Natalia Kuzova (Project Manager), Professor, Doctor of Law, Olga Pravotorova, Professor, Doctor of Historical Sciences Serhiy Vodotyka, Associate Professor, Candidate of Law, Iryna Ryzhenko, took part in the competition and received a grant from the Ukrainian Institute of Canada (Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies) at the University of Alberta, which is the center of Ukrainian studies in Canada, and the Alexander and Helen Kulahyn Endowment Fund with the support of the Ukrainian Research and Education Center for Holodomor Studies (HREC in Ukraine). The purpose of the project: preparation of an expert opinion, which contains a legal assessment of the actions of the USSR authorities against the citizens of the USSR in 1930-1934, which led to the Holodomor of 1932-1933 on the example of specific facts that took place in southern Ukraine. It is planned that the expert opinion will contain historical and legal information on the mechanism of actions that can be classified as genocide of the Ukrainian people and genocide of citizens of the USSR.

 

Dissemination of its results to the general public: scientific institutions, public organizations, universities and secondary schools, all stakeholders in Ukraine and abroad, including the Internet, will promote international recognition of the Holodomor as an act of genocide of the Ukrainian people, deepen knowledge about its manifestations , mechanisms and features.
