KSU Gains European Experience in Syllabus Development and Implementation of Educational Components within the BURN (Erasmus+) Project
As part of the BURN project under the Erasmus+ program, “Boosting University Psychological Resilience and Wellbeing in (Post-) War Ukrainian Nation,” the Department of Psychology at Kherson State University has been studying and continues to explore European experience in syllabus development and the implementation of educational components.
The educational webinars are joined by: Project Manager, Professor Ihor Popovych, Associate Professor Nataliia Tavrovetska, Associate Professor Ivan Krupnyk, Lecturer Valentyna Kalenchuk, and PhD student Mariia Pocheketa.
Rector of KSU, Oleksandr Spivakovskiy, emphasized:
"Given the current circumstances, psychology is a highly relevant field, which is why we continue to gain European experience to preserve and develop Ukrainian education and science!"
For his part, Ihor Popovych emphasized that familiarizing oneself with the best European practices in the context of psychological consultation and psychotherapy, as well as psychological support, aims to enable the high-quality development of educational components for students at three levels of education: the educational components (EC) "Crisis Online Counseling," EC "Art Therapy Based on Mindfulness (Working with Trauma)," and the training module "Work with Refugees and People Affected by War," with further integration into the educational process at Kherson State University.
The work package (WP2) included six webinars. All project participants from KSU actively participated in the webinars conducted by partners from Estonia, Latvia, and Germany.
At the first webinar, speaker Anni Levski (University of Tartu) shared her experience in creating and teaching the course "Introduction to Crisis Intervention."
At the second webinar, speaker Anda Upmane (University of Latvia) talked about the history of creating bachelor's programs, the structure, and content-specific features of psychology syllabi.
At the third webinar, speakers Phil Langer and Lars Kuchinke (International Psychoanalytic University Berlin) talked about the German education system and the main principles of psychological education. They revealed the standards and policies of the syllabi for the EC.
At the fourth webinar, speakers Wiebke Stelling and Christine Möllers (International Psychoanalytic University Berlin) introduced the participants to the work of the Team Quality Management and Organizational Development Department. They shared their experience in using concepts and tools that are employed for assessment and training. One of these concepts is "uno actu" (one act), as well as tools used at IPU for learning and assessment.
