Students of the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology and Journalism of Kherson State University took part in foreign internships and reported on their experience to the academic council of the faculty.
Kateryna Kasyanets, a 4th-year student at the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology and Journalism of KSU, took part in a research internship under the Mitacs Globalink Research Intership (GRI) 2024 program, which took place from June 17 to September 6 at Thompson Rivers University, Canada.
"During my internship, I worked on the research project "South Korea Stands With Ukraine". The research topic was extremely interesting to me, and besides, it plays a very important role in our time. The internship took place at Thompson Rivers University - a university that fascinates with its modernity and beauty at first glance. While working on the research, I had the opportunity to develop my professional skills, improve my English, meet wonderful people from different parts of the world, and travel to the most beautiful places in British Columbia. It was a unique experience that taught me a lot. Canada is an incredibly beautiful country with magical nature and people. Therefore, I gladly recommend everyone to try their hand and take part in the program, which will definitely change you and your professional life!" - said Kateryna.
During the II semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, students Anzhelika Chaban (4th year) and Yana Klymovych and Darya Punyak (2nd year of the master's level of higher education) studied for a semester under the Erasmus+ program at the Alpine-Adriatic University in Klagenfurt (Austria).
Students had the opportunity to improve their level of German by studying it with native speakers, plan their semester independently, attend various courses and webinars on campus, study interesting subjects based on their own interests, get acquainted with Austrian culture, with students from other countries of the world, and expand their outlook!
"Study abroad always brings invaluable experience as well as new academic and cultural knowledge. Austria is no exception, so during this semester I had the opportunity to both learn the language from native speakers and improve the skills that Kherson State University taught me." - Angelica said and expressed her desire to share her impressions in more detail with university students who plan to participate in such international activities in the future, but hesitate or have some fears.
Studying abroad provides unforgettable memories, skills that will be needed anywhere, and opportunities! Do not be afraid and try your hand at studying abroad, because the brave always have something to remember!
