A consortium of American universities, led by Indiana University and funded by the G10 Academic Alliance, invites scholars from Ukraine to apply for one-year fellowships for non-resident researchers in the social sciences and humanities who are pursuing postgraduate studies or hold a PhD, MD, or doctorate. English language proficiency is an advantage, but not a requirement for participation in the programme.

Applicants can apply for funding for research, writing, and creative projects, such as publishing projects (special issue of a journal, collection of scientific papers, textbook) or exhibitions. Applications can also be aimed at teaching development (e.g., a course development project, creation of digital learning resources and modules).

Preference will be given to applicants who plan to reside in Ukraine at the start of the fellowship (October 2024) and to projects that are in line with the overall theme of the programme ‘Preservation and Restoration’, especially in the context of Russia's war against Ukraine.

The winners of the programme will receive a grant of $5,000 (in two instalments) to support their research, writing and/or teaching. In addition, they will receive a one-year contract as a non-resident visiting scholar with tenure at one of the participating US universities. Programme participants will also have access to digital resources and materials from university libraries.

All programme activities and most communication will be bilingual - in English and Ukrainian. The programme will support about 30 scholars.

The deadline for applications: 4 October 2024.
