KSU Lecturers Visit the University of Latvia as Part of the Erasmus+ KA2 BURN Project
From September 23 to 27, a delegation from Kherson State University (KSU) will be visiting the University of Latvia, particularly the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences and Psychology.
This visit is part of the Erasmus+ KA2 project “Boosting University Psychological Resilience and Wellbeing in (Post-) War Ukrainian Nation” (BURN), in which Kherson State University is a participant.
The main goal of the visit is to explore curriculum design and psychology training methods in Latvia to enhance mental health and resilience in Ukrainian society, contributing to the country’s post-war recovery.
The five-day program includes meetings with faculty members, course observations, and participation in workshops.
Representing KSU during the visit are Ruslana Bilous, PhD in Psychology, Associate Professor, and Valentyna Kalenchuk, Lecturer at the Department of Psychology.
Throughout the five days, project participants will take part in sessions covering topics such as "Psychology Training Methods for Teachers," "Core Counseling Skills," and "Psychological Counseling for Master's Students". The visit will also include course observations and hands-on workshops aimed at fostering collaboration in course development.
Additionally, the Ukrainian delegation will explore crisis counseling services, visiting organizations such as "Dardedze" Safe Childhood Center, which focuses on violence prevention, and the Children's Clinical University Hospital "House of the Child," which provides psychological support for children.
As stated on the project’s official page, these visits will offer valuable insights into Latvian approaches to trauma-informed care and psychological support for vulnerable groups.
