On 16 August, Kherson State University hosted a landmark event - the diploma awarding ceremony for bachelor's and master's graduates of the 222 Medicine speciality. More than 500 participants joined the event due to the equipment obtained within the Educational and Cultural HUB operation. The celebrations were held in a hybrid mode.
About 200 participants attended the event in person in Ivano-Frankivsk and about 150 were in a shelter in Kherson. More than 150 people from different parts of Ukraine and the world joined online.
The event was hosted by Andrii Yaremenko, Chief Specialist of the Department for the Implementation of Humanitarian Policy of the Kherson Regional State Administration.
The graduates were surprised by the address of a well-known Ukrainian athlete, Honoured Master of Sports of Ukraine, People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 9th convocation, multiple world and European champion, champion of the Tokyo Olympic Games, silver (2016) and bronze medallist of the Olympic Games (2024) in Paris, Zhan Beleniuk.
Then, representatives of the leadership of Kherson and the region delivered greetings.
Thus, Roman Mrochko, the Head of the Kherson CMA, wished Kherson State University to develop and return to the glorious hero city of Kherson. He wished the academic staff inspiration, success and patience, and the students to find themselves in this life.
The event was also attended by a representative of the Ivano-Frankivsk city authorities - Deputy Mayor for the Executive Bodies of the City Council Svyatoslav Nikorovych, Rector of the Precarpathian National University Ihor Tsependa and Rector of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University Roman Yatsyshyn.
This year, more than 600 bachelor's degree holders received their diplomas. About 200 bachelors received their long-awaited diplomas in person: more than 100 in Kherson and 88 in Ivano-Frankivsk.
At the end of the event, the audience was surprised by vocal performances by People's Artist of Ukraine, Professor of the Department of Musical Art of the Faculty of Culture and Arts of KSU Viktor Hurba and Anna Manzhai, a graduate of the faculty.
