On 27 November, KSU Educational and Cultural HUB hosted a presentation of a postage stamp series ‘New Names on the Map of Kherson’ dedicated to prominent personalities whose names are immortalised on the updated toponymic map of the city.
The project was implemented by representatives of the Faculty of Psychology, History and Sociology of Kherson State University in cooperation with the Kherson Regional Branch of the Sociological Association of Ukraine.
The stamp series includes three blocks of nine stamps each. Each block includes stamps on one subject: ‘Defenders of Ukraine’, “Artists, musicians, theatre performers and scientists” and “Public figures”.
The presentation was attended by: Halyna Mykhailenko, PhD in History, Associate Professor, Deputy Dean of the School of Education and Practice, co-editor of the collection ‘Kherson 2022: with Ukraine in the Heart’, Oleksandr Cheremisin, Ph, Professor, Assistant Dean of the Institute for Research, compiler of the collection ‘Chronicle of Civil Resistance’ and co-editor of the collection ‘Kherson 2022: with Ukraine in the Heart’, Volodymyr Hurich, PhD in History, Assistant Dean of the Institute for International Activities, Vitalii Karabinovych, PhD student of the Department of History, Archeology and Teaching Methods of KSU.
KSU also received copies of the stamps. The academic staff handed them over to the first Vice-Rector Serhii Omelchuk, who thanked the university community for promoting the personalities whose names are immortalised on the updated toponymic map of the city.
