Representatives of KSU are undergoing training within the Erasmus+ BURN Project to improve psychological support for the community
From March 10 to 14, a training visit took place within the Erasmus+ Programme BURN project – “Boosting University Psychological Resilience and Wellbeing in (Post-) War Ukrainian Nation” hosted by the University of Tartu, in the cities of Tartu and Tallinn, Estonia.
Participants from five Ukrainian universities and three European institutions (University of Tartu, IPU, UL) exchanged experiences and explored European approaches to psychological support in universities. Representing Kherson State University, the visit was attended by:
Tetiana Korniichuk – Head of the Center for Psychological Resilience and Wellbeing (CPRW);
Mariia Pocheketa – Assistant at the Department of Psychology, Project Office Manager.
The visit focused on the work of the Counseling Center of the University of Tartu, the provision of psychological services, and the professional development of specialists.
Key Goals of the Training Visit:
✔ Familiarization with the collaboration model between the Counseling Center and the Department of Psychology at the University of Tartu.
✔ Deepening understanding of trauma-informed approaches.
✔ Expanding professional competencies of psychologists through the study of art therapy methods in psychological support.
Training Outcomes:
● A comprehensive and deeper understanding of the work of the Counseling Center, its approaches, and provided services.
● Mastering supervision techniques and strategies.
● Strengthening self-help skills and enhancing emotional resilience.
● Improving skills in working with clients who have had traumatic experiences.
● Familiarization with the use of music therapy and art therapy methods.
● Generating ideas for establishing and structuring psychological support services in universities.
This training has expanded the professional capabilities of specialists at the Center for Psychological Resilience and Well-being, enabling them to implement modern support methods for students and faculty.
