The Department of Economics, Management and Administration held a meeting to discuss drafts of updated bachelor's and master's degree programs. The event was attended by guarantors of educational programs and students of various courses, who shared their ideas and suggestions for improving the curriculum.
During the meeting, the participants actively participated in discussing the content of the educational programs, proposing changes that meet the current challenges in the field of economics and management. One of the most controversial issues was the introduction of English-language educational components.
Applicants expressed different views on this issue:
🔹 Supporters of the introduction of English-language disciplines believe that this will help to improve the level of language proficiency and international competitiveness of graduates.
Other students expressed concern that their level of English may not be sufficient to master the material.
To get a more detailed picture, a survey was conducted during the meeting among the students about the difficulties in mastering professional English.
Among other key suggestions from applicants, we can highlight:
✔️ strengthening language competencies within the educational process;
✔️ inclusion of disciplines related to the use of artificial intelligence in professional activities.
The applicants were also asked to evaluate the proposed list of educational components of future programs, taking into account the proposals discussed.
The meeting was followed by a meeting of the working groups of the Management and Economics programs, where, taking into account the results of the discussion and preliminary surveys of applicants, a preliminary list of educational components for the updated programs was agreed upon.
The department continues to work on improving educational programs, taking into account current trends in the industry, employers' requests and the wishes of students.
