From 10 to 14 March, a study visit within the framework of the Erasmus+ BURN project "Boosting University Psychological Resilience and Wellbeing in (Post-) War Ukrainian Nation" took place at the University of Tartu (Tartu, Tallinn, Estonia).
Participants from five Ukrainian universities and three European universities (University of Tartu, IPU, UL) exchanged experiences and learnt about European approaches to psychological support at universities. Kherson State University was represented by Tetiana Korniichuk, Head of the Centre for Psychological Resilience and Wellbeing (CPWB); Maria Pocheketa, Assistant of the Department of Psychology, Project Office Manager.
According to Maria Pocheketa on her page, the visit focused on the work of the University of Tartu Counselling Centre, the provision of psychological services and professional development of specialists.
The purpose of the study visit:
✔ Introduction to the model of cooperation between the Counselling Centre and the Department of Psychology of the University of Tartu.
✔ Deepening the understanding of approaches to working with trauma.
✔ Expanding the professional competencies of psychologists through familiarisation with art therapy methods in the field of psychological support.
Learning outcomes:
● Comprehensive and deeper perception of the work of the Counselling Centre, its approaches and services provided
● Mastering supervisory techniques and strategies.
● Strengthening self-help skills and increasing emotional resilience.
● Improving skills in working with clients who have had traumatic experiences
● Learning about the use of music therapy and art therapy
● Developing ideas for creating and organising psychological support services at universities.
This training has expanded the professional capabilities of the specialists of the Centre for Psychological Resilience and Wellbeing, allowing them to implement modern methods of supporting students and teachers.
