ICTERI-2025: Kherson State University Team Presents Research Experience at International Conference

The 20th anniversary international conference on Information and Communication Technologies in Education, Research, and Industrial Applications — ICTERI-2025 — began on September 1 at Université Côte d’Azur in Nice, France.

This year, the conference brings together participants from 13 countries: Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, South Africa, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and the USA.

Kherson State University, a co-founder of ICTERI, is represented by a strong delegation. The scientific event was opened by KSU Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskiy, together with the conference co-chair, Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation, Professor Philippe Lahire from Université Côte d’Azur, and the chairs of the ICTERI-2025 Program Committee, Professor Vadym Yermolaiev from the Ukrainian Catholic University and Professor Frédéric Mallet from Université Côte d’Azur.

In his speech, Oleksandr Spivakovskiy presented a retrospective on the development of ICTERI. The history of the conference, now internationally known as ICTERI, began in Kherson in 2001 as part of the Tempus project “Information Infrastructure of HEI.” Until 2014, it was held exclusively at Kherson State University. Due to the significant expansion of the conference topics, its name was changed in 2010 to the now globally recognized ICTERI.

In the following years, the conference was hosted by: Lviv Polytechnic National University (2016), Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (2016, 2017, 2018), Kherson State University (2019, 2021), V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (2020), Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (2023), and Ukrainian Catholic University (2024).

"ICTERI is a place where ideas become reality and innovations bring value. Here, fundamental research, practical applications, artificial intelligence, infrastructure solutions, and educational technologies are discussed within an open scientific community.

The growth and development of the conference would be unimaginable without the Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation of the Université Côte d’Azur (France) and ICTERI co-founder, Professor Philippe Lahire, Prof. Frédéric Mallet, Prof. Georges Mallet, Prof. Laurence Nelis-Blanc from Université Côte d’Azur, France. A constant co-organizer and driving force behind ICTERI is Professor Vadym Yermolaiev of the Ukrainian Catholic University, who is also an Honorary Professor of Kherson State University. Thanks to him, we have a highly reputable conference whose outcomes are recognized by the global scientific community,” emphasized Spivakovskiy.

Significant contributions to the development of the conference have been made by: Professor Hryhorii Zholtkevych (V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ukraine), Professor Mykola Nikitchenko (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine), Professors Tilman Reuther and Heinrich Mayer (University of Klagenfurt, Austria), Mykhailo Zavileiskyi (DataArt, USA), Professors Gary Pratt and Martin Strecker (Université de Toulouse, France), Professors Michael Lvov and Hennadii Kravtsov (Kherson State University, Ukraine), Professor Vitaliy Yakovyna (Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ukraine; University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland), and Professor Yaroslav Prytula (Ukrainian Catholic University, Ukraine).

ICTERI publishes its proceedings (main conference, poster sessions, and PhD symposium) with Springer in its CCIS series. ICTERI Springer CCIS volumes are indexed in DBLP, EI-Compendex, Mathematical Reviews, SCImago, and Scopus. All materials undergo prior evaluation and review by the Program Committee, which guarantees high quality. Typically, fewer than half of the submitted presentations are accepted for the plenary sessions. The careful selection of speakers and the high quality of conference materials contribute to the conference’s growing reputation among scientists, educators, and researchers. Oleksandr Spivakovskiy noted that he personally experienced the rigor of this process, as none of his submissions were accepted by the Program Committee between 2019 and 2023.

Oleksandr Spivakovskiy expressed gratitude to the Université Côte d’Azur (France) for its support, as well as to all partners and organizers who made this conference possible.

The Rector wished participants a productive and inspiring event, hoping the forum would generate new ideas, foster valuable partnerships, and lead to successful projects.

Conference statistics were presented by ICTERI Program Committee co-chair, Professor Vadym Yermolaiev. A total of 58 paper submissions were received: 45 for the main conference and 13 for the PhD track. Authors represent 13 countries, and 21 presentations will be delivered. The acceptance rate stands at 36%, reflecting the tradition of rigorous selection.
