KSU Representative Took Part in the International Seminar on Inclusion in Education

The Head of the Quality Assurance Department of Kherson State University, Tetiana Cherkashyna, took part online in the International Seminar “Development of an Inclusive Educational Environment Based on a Student-Centred Approach Under The Emergencies” The event was organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Higher Education Reform Experts Team (HERE team), with the support of SPHERE and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).

The seminar was held on October 7–8 and brought together representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, other government institutions, universities, and public organizations.

At the opening session, participants were welcomed by Svitlana Shytikova, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, and Zhanna Talanova, the seminar moderator, representing NEO – Ukraine and HERE.

Speakers included Oleh Sharov, Director General of the Directorate of Higher and Adult Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and Dr. Janine Gregersen-Hermans, Member of the Supervisory Board of Thomas More University of Applied Sciences (the Netherlands); Senior Researcher and Lecturer at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences (IBSM); appointed member of the Academic Board and the subsidiary faculty center for the internationalization of higher education at Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Milan, Italy).

Participants presented project outcomes, shared experiences, and discussed current practices.

During the second day, the discussions focused on inclusive groups, and the understanding of inclusion in Ukraine and Europe.

Presentations highlighted international experiences in inclusive education for gifted youth, and support for professional education and active student engagement through the development of comprehensive mentorship and tutoring systems in higher education institutions.

Participants also discussed distance and blended learning approaches, combining traditional teaching methods with digital tools.

Within the seminar, the results of the SMART-PL project “Personalized Learning Model Based on a Virtual Learning Environment of Intelligent Tutoring ‘Learning Without Limits’” were presented.

This project is being implemented by Kherson State University together with international partners.
