Excursion to the "House of the Warrior" (Ivano-Frankivsk)
On December 15, 2025, as part of the Full-time Study Week at the Faculty of Psychology, History and Sociology, an information meeting-excursion for 2nd-year students of the second (master's) level of higher education in the specialty "Social Work" was held to the municipal institution "Soldier's House" in Ivano-Frankivsk. "Soldier's House" is an institution that provides social, psychological and legal services to military personnel, veterans and their families.
The purpose of the institution's activities: social support and adaptation of military personnel and their families. Services provided by the "Soldier's House": psychological and physical rehabilitation, legal consultations, leisure activities, assistance in employment and development of veteran business, assistance in obtaining benefits and social guarantees. "Soldier's House" is a friendly space for Veterans, Defenders and their relatives.
Kroshny Mykola, head of the "Soldier's House" Community Center, introduced the master's students of KhSU to how the "Soldier's House" Community Center forms a strong veteran community and creates a space where every serviceman and his family member can receive quality assistance and new opportunities: the "defender's family assistant" service, "Healed by Love" training meetings for spouses of Defenders of Ukraine; various master classes for children of Defenders, wives and mothers of Fallen Heroes (painting New Year's gingerbread, creating Christmas cards, decorating a Christmas candlestick, creating an interior mini-panel with ears of corn, "Flowers in the Middle of Autumn", etc.); St. Andrew's evenings, festive children's games for St. Nicholas Day for children of fallen and missing Defenders of Ukraine; a dynamic and exciting airsoft game was organized for veterans and servicemen; a master class on creating your own portraits with watercolors for children of servicemen, veterans and fallen Heroes; organization and support of the work of mutual aid groups of mothers of fallen Warrior-Heroes; trainings "Where to get strength in difficult times?"; Joy in the circle of friends: a special Birthday for the children of Heroes, when the "House of the Warrior" continues its important mission of support, creating moments of light and ordinary childhood; an English project for veterans and many other events and projects, when every meeting at the "House of the Warrior" is a reminder: we are not alone: there are those around us who understand, support and help us find ourselves again.
Kashuba Lyubomyr Kazymyrovych, a specialist in supporting war veterans and demobilized persons, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, spoke about the daily work of the "House of the Warrior", aimed at supporting veterans and their families, about support in difficult life situations, psychological assistance, social services and important initiatives that are implemented by the institution's specialists for the community.
Separately, the master's students of the specialty "Social Work" were presented with the current city programs for veterans, which allow them to receive professional support, opportunities for development, training and integration into civilian life.
