An impressive day at Yaremche City Hospital!

Thursday, January 15, 2026

Today, medical students made a very informative trip to Yaremche City Hospital! From the very morning, having divided into three groups due to the large number of students, we began our immersion in the world of practical medicine.
Our experience:
• Purulent dressing: We observed the procedure for washing the wound of a patient with panaritium. The doctor delicately performed washing and disinfection, and the nurse applied a clean bandage. The patient felt significant relief and was able to go home! This was an important demonstration of providing immediate care.
• Surgical department: Together with the surgeon, we got acquainted in detail with the work of the department. We saw how sterilization is organized, examined modern respiratory devices and, what is especially interesting, came across a real rarity - an old mercury floor thermometer! You can only find such a thing in textbooks! It was a truly fascinating combination of history and modernity.
• Traumatology Department: Here we saw patients after complex operations: steel structures (external and internal), fractures of limbs with displacements... It was very inspiring to see that all of them are in the reliable hands of professionals who work wonders!
This day gave us not only new knowledge, but also a huge boost of motivation. Thank you to the staff of the Yaremche City Hospital for their hospitality, openness and the opportunity to see medicine from the inside!
P.S. At the end, a pleasant reward awaited us - a majestic waterfall! Under its noise we fixed all our impressions, full of gratitude for such a rich and useful day.
