On February 27, 2026, a guest lecture was held for students of the “Preschool Education” program at the Ivano-Frankivsk Professional College of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University on the topic: “Developing a Child’s Competencies Through Board and Printed Games.” The speaker of the event, Iryna Mykolaivna Tsiupak, lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Preschool and Primary Education of Kherson State University, presented future educators with a modern perspective on this classical educational tool.
Today, board and printed games are not just entertainment, but a powerful means of implementing the State Standard of Preschool Education. In a world dominated by digitalization, it is live, interactive play that helps develop critical and dialogical thinking, while also fostering competencies in an accessible and engaging way — competencies that form the foundation of a successful personality.
Students actively participated in the discussion and answered questions. The event became part of a program of inter-university cooperation and exchange of experience, contributing to the improvement of the quality of preschool education specialist training.
