The Faculty of Education at Kherson State University expands international partnership: participation in Democracy Week 2026 in Norway

Acting Dean of the Faculty of Education at Kherson State University, Liubov Petukhova, participated in Democracy Week 2026 at the University of Agder (Norway), which served as a platform for developing international dialogue and expanding academic partnerships. The visit placed particular emphasis on prospects for cooperation in the field of teacher education and international academic mobility.

The delegation of Kherson State University participated in Democracy Week 2026 and related international events held at the University of Agder (Norway), including the Kristiansand European Conference on Democracy and Human Rights under the auspices of the Council of Europe.

The delegation of Kherson State University included: Oleksandr Spivakovskyi, Rector of KSU; Alla Tsapiv, Vice-Rector for Internationalization; Yevheniia Revenko, Head of the International Relations Office; Maksym Poltoratskyi, Rector’s Assistant for Strategic Affairs and Acting Head of the Center for Digital Expertise; and Liubov Petukhova, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Education at KSU.

Liubov Petukhova presented the educational programs of the Faculty of Education, modern approaches to teacher training, as well as unique methodologies for working with learners of different age groups, taking into account contemporary challenges.

During the visit, meetings were held with the leadership of the University of Agder, including Rector Sunniva Whittaker and representatives of the International Office. The discussions focused on the development of teacher education, academic mobility, exchange of teaching experience, and the implementation of joint educational and research initiatives. Particular attention was given to prospects for cooperation within the Faculty of Education, including joint study programs, internships for academic staff and students, and the introduction of innovative pedagogical practices.

The participation of the Faculty of Education of KSU in international events demonstrated its role as an active contributor to the European educational space and outlined new directions for development in partnership with the University of Agder. The discussions also addressed the role of universities in strengthening democracy, community development, and building resilient educational systems, which is particularly relevant for Ukraine in the context of war and post-war recovery.

The participation of the Faculty of Education of Kherson State University in Democracy Week 2026 marked an important step in expanding international cooperation and strengthening its position within the European academic community.
