Roundtable Discussion “Professional Standard of the Social Pedagogue: From Discussion to Implementation”
On 19 May 2026, within the framework of Science Weeks at Kherson State University, the academic staff of the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Social Work took part in the roundtable discussion “Professional Standard of the Social Pedagogue: From Discussion to Implementation.” The event was organized by the Department of Social Pedagogy and Social Work of the Faculty of Education at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University and the Department of Social Work of the Faculty of Special Education and Social Policy at Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian State University.
The purpose of the event was to discuss the draft professional standard “Social Pedagogue” and to provide proposals and comments within the framework of public consultation.
Participants of the roundtable focused on and thoroughly discussed the following issues:

the compliance of the standard with current legislation, regulatory acts, and contemporary challenges;

the completeness and clarity of the labour functions of the social pedagogue;

the structure of competencies and learning outcomes, as well as employers’ practical expectations;

the orientation of the standard toward current trends and future prospects for the professional activity of social pedagogues in Ukraine.
