Kherson State University Representatives Participate in Erasmus+ BURN Project Meeting in Estonia

The kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ BURN project (Boosting University Psychological Resilience and Wellbeing in (Post-) War Ukrainian Nation) has commenced at the University of Tartu, Estonia.

Representing Kherson State University (KSU) at the event are Nataliia Tavrovetska, Acting Head of the Department of Psychology, and Yevheniia Revenko, Head of the International Initiatives and Project Management Department. Participants are discussing the project’s key objectives, expectations, and anticipated outcomes.

This initiative aims to implement the best practices in providing psychological support to university communities affected by the war. The project unites universities from Estonia, Germany, and Latvia, along with five Ukrainian higher education institutions.

Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, Svitlana Shytikova, delivered a welcome address emphasizing the key aspects of the project’s implementation.

Rector of KSU Oleksandr Spivakovskiy highlighted the historical connection between Kherson State University and Tartu:

It is symbolic that the history of Kherson State University is linked to Tartu. In 1917, during World War I, Yuriev Teacher’s Institute was evacuated to Kherson, marking the beginning of our university’s journey. Today, through this project, we are writing a new chapter in our shared history.”

The KSU delegation now faces two more intensive working days as part of the meeting.
