On April 21, 2023, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference (with international participation) titled "Fröbel Pedagogy in Modern Education: Requirements, Trends, and Perspectives" was held.
An important event for Ukrainian educators was the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference (with international participation) titled "Fröbel Pedagogy in Modern Education: Requirements, Trends, and Perspectives," held at Kherson State University on April 20-21.
The organizers successfully integrated the core principles of Fröbel pedagogy with Ukrainian traditions, national consciousness, and modern educational technologies and trends.
The second day of the conference focused on practical-oriented activities, offering participants valuable and informative workshops. For example, Andrea Matais (Head of the Antonivka Financial Support Fund, Kassel, Germany) highlighted the topic "Fröbel's Mother Songs," while Ihor Bushchak (Assistant at the Department of Primary and Preschool Education at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv) demonstrated practical ways of working with children using songs during his presentation "Motherly and Gentle Songs: From Heart to Heart through Play and Song." Alla Vladymyrova (Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Preschool and Primary Education at Kherson State University) presented musical and rhythmic exercises titled "Fröbel’s Methods and the Methods of Ukrainian Educators," and Tetiana Holinska (Associate Professor of the same department) conducted a workshop on "Fröbel’s Ideas in Paper Craft."
Participants also watched a video highlighting the experience of using Fröbel's methods with children, featuring Denis Mühlberg and Kirsten Pohl (Wolfenbüttel, Germany), created by Iryna Fomina (Senior Lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, and Educational Management named after Prof. Ye. Petukhova). The practical implementation of Fröbel pedagogy in Kherson's preschools was presented by Oksana Romanovych, Director of Preschool № 10 (Sanatorium Type) of the Kherson City Council, and Yulia Molikevich, Educator-Methodologist of Kherson Preschool № 33 named after F. Fröbel.
The conference concluded with discussion platforms where participants from various educational institutions presented their perspectives on Fröbel’s pedagogical ideas through the lens of their own research.
We deeply value our long-standing partnership with our German colleagues, especially with Andrea Matais, head of the Antonivka Financial Support Fund, through whom we continue to spread Fröbel’s educational ideas within the Ukrainian educational space. At the same time, we are delighted by the new connections made with like-minded educators at the conference, and we are already planning future collaborations at both the national and international levels.
