The Faculty of Business and Law actively implements internationalization processes, realizing their key role in shaping modern education. Through close cooperation with foreign partners, the integration of English-language disciplines, and the participation of students and faculty in international projects and programs, the School creates a favorable environment for the development of professional, linguistic, and intercultural competencies.
The internationalization of education is an important priority for a modern university, as it provides students and teachers with access to the latest knowledge, expands opportunities for cooperation and promotes integration into the global educational space. In the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, the Faculty of Business and Law of Kherson State University hosted many significant events aimed at developing international cooperation.
1. Teaching disciplines in English
The faculty has introduced English-language educational components that not only develop students' professional competencies but also deepen their knowledge of the English language.
The Performance Management course for third-year students of the Management program combines theoretical aspects with practical tasks. As part of the course, the students took part in an international scientific and practical conference and published abstracts in English. In addition, they took the online course “Performance Management” on the Udemy platform, which contributed to the development of both professional and language skills.The bilingual course “Management of Foreign Economic Activity” helped students not only to get acquainted with the main aspects of international trade, but also to master professional terminology in English, which is important for their future careers.
2. Annual scientific and practical conference
The School actively supports international scientific events. At the annual conference “Strategic Priorities for the Development of Economics, Management, Service and Law in the Context of Integration Processes”, participants from different countries presented their research. A significant part of the speeches and abstracts were in English, which contributes to the integration of the School's scientific achievements into the international space.
3. Open lecture to the 107th anniversary of the university
As part of the celebration of the 107th anniversary of Kherson State University, an open lecture was held by Dr. Kateryna Syniakova, Study Program Director (Global MBA) from Cologne University of Applied Sciences (Germany). The lecture in English was devoted to topical issues of human resource management in the international context. The students learned about intercultural communication and participated in interactive exercises that helped them improve their communication skills in a global environment.
4. English language courses and Speaking Clubs
The university has organized English language courses for faculty and students, as well as free Speaking Clubs with native speakers. These initiatives contribute to the development of language competence and confidence in communicating in English.
5. Semester exchanges of students
As part of our cooperation with foreign partners, two students of the Faculty of Business and Law took part in a semester exchange program at the University of Pomerania in Poland. This allowed them to gain invaluable experience of studying abroad, immerse themselves in the European academic environment and improve their knowledge of English and Polish.
6. Participation in international projects.
Faculty members are actively engaged in research activities aimed at solving topical social and economic issues. In particular, within the framework of the international project EURIZON № EU-3033 “Stimulating the development of de-occupied territories through innovative investment instruments within the European Union”, teachers are exploring the possibilities of applying European best practices for the restoration and development of post-conflict regions of Ukraine. This project contributes to the development of strategies that will help to effectively integrate the de-occupied territories into the economic space of the country and the EU.
In addition, active work is underway to prepare grant applications under EU programs, including Erasmus+ Jean Monnet. The purpose of these initiatives is to strengthen the educational and scientific capabilities of the faculty, create platforms for international cooperation and introduce innovative teaching methods that meet modern European standards.
