Call for applications for studying at School of infogrphic for young designers

International Renaissance Foundation (IRF) is announcing a call for applications for studying at School of infogrphic for young designers and others who is willing to work with visual information (Kyiv, 27-30 September 2012).

School of infographic is a course about the basics of infographic aimed to study means for creating and using of dynamic infographic for online resources and publications.

Participants will learn:

- Basics of graphic design and infographic (data formats, libraries for visualization, visual language symbols, algorithms);

- The basics of working with key instruments creating infographics and online services (Google Refine, Google Charts, MapCode, FusionTables);

- Graphical programming basics (NodeBox, Python).

Ukrainian specialists in graphic design and infographic, including representatives of the teams Texty.org.ua and other specialists will be school trainers.

Participants of the School infographic will be selected on a competitive basis. Only 15 participants will be selected.

Participation is free. Organizers provide educational materials and meals (coffee breaks and lunch) and refound reimburse travel and accommodations to participants who do not live in Kyiv for the period of study.

Mandatory conditions of participation are:

- Complete the online application form;

- Availability of a laptop for educational sessions.
