The system of educational work at the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism is implemented in accordance with the main normative legal documents of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Status of the Kherson State University regarding the organization of the educational process, the rules of the internal regulations at the Kherson State University and the "Provision of the Curator" , as well as other documents regulating the implementation of the educational process. Within the framework of "Open Day" and at the beginning of the academic year, students and freshmen are introduced to the present and glorious pages of the history of the faculty, video films about the scientific, methodical, social activities of students, teachers and staff are organized.
The pride of the faculty is an exemplary vocal-choral group, founded in 1993. Since September 1998, G.M. Hook has become the head of the vocal-choral collective. The creative achievements of the vocal and choral staff of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism include: participation in the program of the report concert of masters of arts and creative teams of the Kherson State Pedagogical University in Kiev in 2002, in festive actions-concerts, presentations, presentations Tsyurupinskaya, Kalanchak, Kakhovka.
For a significant contribution to the cause of student youth education, active participation in the revival and multiplication of national cultural heritage, a high artistic level the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine No. 892 of 27.07.2011 was awarded to the exemplary vocal and choral staff of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology title "People's Artistic Collective".
The debut creative festival is a traditional one: a competition between first-year academic groups and the Kherson State University Young Wave Arts Festival. During the years of its existence the creative teams of the faculty took the first place 10 times.
Within the framework of national education curatorial hours are held: "Cossack kind has no count" to the Day of Ukrainian Cossacks (October), "Love to the Most High is dedicated" to Mother's Day (May), "Role and place of women in modern society" to the International Day for Women and Peace Rights (March), "With all your heart love Ukraine" to the anniversary of the liberation of Kherson from the Nazi invaders (March), "It swells, sings our language, charms, pleases and intoxicate" to the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language (November), theatrical Ukrainian evening dresses.
Students and faculty members are active in radio and television, promoting their mother tongue and culture. For example, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor V.P. Nemchenko, Head of the Department of Social Communications, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Rembetska O.V., Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Communications, Head of the Kherson Regional Organization National Union of Writers of Ukraine V.S. Zagorodniuk.
On the occasion of the anniversary of liberation of Kherson from the German invaders, Victory Day, students meet with veterans of the Great Patriotic War and veterans of labor.
Curatorial hours are held to commemorate the victims of the 1932-1933 famine, curators of academic groups also conduct educational work in the dormitories of Kherson State University in order to assist in the organization of everyday life, independent work and conducting student entertainment activities.
