Remember the Ukrainian genocide

November 27, the day commemorating the victims of the Holodomor at the Faculty of Philology and Journalism at Kherson State University was held round table "Remember the Ukrainian genocide."

This terrible page of Ukrainian history was planned and implemented by the government of theUSSRin 1932 - 1933 years. Thus our ancestors paid for attempts resistance communist authorities, because the wider Ukrainian did not perceive its policies and performances and staged numerous protests. And taking into account that the Ukrainian nation was the second largest in theSoviet Unionhad its own state tradition and the experience of the national liberation struggle, the leadership of the state has set a goal to destroy as Ukrainian political nation.

The instrument for this purpose was elected hunger. In particular, in January 1928 the communist regime launched a violent grain deliveries. The peasants forcibly took away most or all grown grain and at much reduced prices. At the same time began "liquidation" of the wealthiest households. During the famine totalitarian government not only did not stop the forced weaning food, but also rejected aid from abroad and threw all the forces out to isolate starving areas.
As a result of these inhumane acts of 1932 and1933 inUkraine killed millions of people. However, conscious of mortality statistics aggregated driving ban made it impossible to establish the exact number of victims.

Ukrainian Literature Faculty and students of the Faculty of Philology and JournalismKhersonStateUniversitycontributed to the commemoration of the innocent victims of Soviet policy. The event started with the opening speech of Doctor of Philology, Professor Vladimir Oleksenko in which he emphasized the terrible year of Soviet policy, which led to painful losses of the Ukrainian people through famine. On this occasion was announced a minute of silence. Continued review of thematic round table presentations "Holodomor in Ukrainian poems," "tragic 1932-1933 inUkrainian prose", "Remembering the Ukrainian Genocide victims in painting and sculpture." Lukyanov Lyudmila Pysmenna Margaret, Catherine and Taradymenko Stryuk Daria delivered reports that ilyustruvalys excerpts from the movie Oles Yanchuk "Hunger-33", filmed on the novel by Vasyl Barka "Yellow prince". Students of the Faculty Hnidash Daria, Klymentenko Mandych Tamara Anastasia and read poems about difficult times Famine. Completed event discussing the events of genocide and their place in the history of the Ukrainian people.
