Meeting at the University of Tartu (Tartu, Estonia)

On February 12–14, 2024, the work of the Erasmus+ BURN – Boosting University Psychological Resilience and Wellbeing in (Post-) War Ukrainian Nation project started on the basis of the University of Tartu (city of Tartu, Estonia). The project is aimed at spreading best practices in providing psychological support to university communities affected by the war.

KhSU was presented at the meeting by Nataliya Tavrovetsky, Acting. Head of the Department of Psychology and Yevgenia Revenko, Head of the Department of International Initiatives and Project Activities.
The 1st day of the kick-off meeting began with welcoming words and presentations of their educational institutions by all project participants. The participants held a comprehensive discussion of the goal, tasks, expected results and general strategy of project implementation.

  

The 2nd day of the starting meeting was devoted to the exchange of ideas and plans for the development of crisis psychology and psychological services in European universities. Work package 2 "Professionalization of crisis psychology in the university" was presented by the University of Latvia and was dedicated to the professionalization of crisis psychology. The University of Tartu led the discussion on improving the university's psychological service. During the session, the plan, tasks, expected results and strategic plan for the successful implementation of Work Package 3 "Improving the provided university psychological service" were discussed in detail. The International Psychoanalytic University of Berlin led Work Package 4 "Center for Psychological Resilience and Well-Being", dedicated to the creation of Centers for Psychological Resilience and Well-Being. During the session, the goal, specific tasks, expected results and the general strategy for the implementation of this important component of the project were discussed.
The 3rd day of the BURN project kick-off meeting ended with the presentation of the quality control plan for the project's achievements. All participants received kick-off certificates of Erasmus project BURN. The work has begun!
