KSU students and students of Kherson city schools could see in real time the rare astronomical phenomenon of Mercury's passage through the Sun's disk.  The inauguration of the Physics and Education Technology Laboratory was held on July 17, 2018 at the Department of Physics and Methods of its teaching.

The prospect of using the laboratory is the introduction of new topical specializations, including: robotics, medical equipment, electrical engineering, mechatronics, etc.
