Scientific activity of the Department of Psychology of KSU
At the Department of Psychology there is a scientific school "Psychology of Social Mobility of Personality" by Professor, Doctor of Psychology Olena Blynova. Under the scientific guidance and advice of Professor Olena Blynova, 9 candidates of psychological sciences, one PhD doctor, one doctor of psychological sciences were defended.
Teachers of the department are members of specialized scientific councils for the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations, systematically review and oppose dissertation research, are members of one-time councils for the defense of dissertations for the degree of Dr. PhD. In May 2021, the defense of the dissertation for a PhD was held in a one-time council chaired by Professor Olena Blynova (applicant Lydia Drozd).
The Department of Psychology has two professional publications of category B: Scientific Bulletin of Kherson State University. Psychological Sciences Series Scientific Bulletin of Kherson State University. Series "Psychological Sciences" (editor-in-chief - professor, doctor of psychological sciences Olena Blynova) and scientific journal "Insight: the psychological dimensions of society" (editor-in-chief - professor, doctor of psychological sciences Igor Popovych).
There are two laboratories at the department: research and educational-scientific. Research Laboratory of Psychology of Family Development and Gender Resources, under the guidance of Professor, Doctor of Psychology Vitaliy Shebanova (2002). Educational and Scientific Laboratory of Child Development "Nadiya", under the leadership of Associate Professor, Candidate of Psychological Sciences Svetlana Babatina (2005).
The staff of the Department of Psychology annually holds in the spring - the International Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists, Postgraduates and Students "Socio-psychological technologies of personality development" and every two years, in the fall - the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Sociocultural and psychological dimensions of personality development."
Teachers of the department successfully review the scientific works of category B journals. Professor Igor Popovych is a member of the editorial board of the category A scientific journal "Revista Amazonia Investiga" (Universidad de la Amazonia, Colombia) (indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection). The scholar reviews scientific papers in Category A journals (Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection): Behavior & Information Technology (Taylor & Francis Group Publishing House) (https://www.tandfonline.com/toc/tbit20/current) ; Magazine “Revista Romaneasca pentry Educatie Multidimensionala” (Web of Science Core Collection), (Publishing House “LUMEN”) (https://lumenpublishing.com/journals/index.php/rrem/about).
The Department of Psychology occupies leading positions in Kherson State University in terms of scientific activity, in particular publishing activity. Teachers of the department are the authors of more than 75 articles of category A (Scopus / Web of Science Core Collection), a number of monographs, textbooks, articles published in journals of category B.
