The public is insufficiently informed about this problem. The largest share of human trafficking is labor exploitation, ”said Natalia Fedorovych, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine. From 2012 to 2019, 774 people received the status of victims of human trafficking. Trafficking in human beings is divided into domestic, cross-border and mixed. “People need to know about labor and sexual exploitation, forced begging, criminal involvement, organ harvesting, and how often people are abducted in wheelchairs. Our task is to talk about it as much as possible. We must not forget that a passport is a person's property, you should not give it to anyone. You need to study the legislation of the country where the person goes to work, you need to be critical of offers of sky-high earnings and sign an employment contract in a language you understand. All this will help protect oneself from human trafficking, ”Natalia Fedorovych stressed. It is gratifying that the Faculty of History and Law has not left aside this extremely important and topical issue.
