Educational Program "Double Degree"

Double degree programs are joint educational initiatives between Ukrainian and foreign universities, enabling Ukrainian students to study simultaneously in two different countries under an integrated curriculum and obtain two diplomas—one from a Ukrainian university and another from a European institution.

The Double Degree Program complies with the higher education laws of Ukraine and Poland, regulations of relevant ministries, and European educational standards. Only students enrolled at Kherson State University (KSU) are eligible to participate in the program.

Under the Double Degree Program, students follow a coordinated curriculum in two universities and hold student status in both institutions. The study periods are defined and agreed upon by both universities according to a joint educational plan.

The goal of the Double Degree Program at Kherson State University is to provide students with:

  • The opportunity to study abroad,
  • Enhanced professional training,
  • Increased competitiveness in the job market.

International Academic Experiences of KSU Students

Valeriia Savenko – Research Internship in Germany

Valeriia Savenko, a 4th-year student majoring in Physics and Astronomy (specialization: Computer Modeling of Physical Processes), completed her internship at the Ukrainian Summer School DESY 2024 in Germany.

Working with an international team, she participated in a project on using neural networks to model molecular dynamics. This experience deepened her knowledge in physics, programming, and machine learning while equipping her with cutting-edge tools and approaches.

These opportunities not only help students expand their scientific horizons but also integrate them into the global research community. We are proud of Valeriia and wish her continued success!

Viktoriia Mykhalova – Academic Visit to the University of Kent (UK)

In the 2nd semester of 2024, Viktoriia Mykhalova, a 1st-year student of Software Engineering, joined the KSU delegation on an academic visit to the University of Kent, UK.

Kherson State University has been collaborating with the University of Kent since 2022 through the Twinning Initiative, launched by the British consulting firm Cormack Consultancy Group with support from Universities UK.

Viktoriia shared her impressions:
"First of all, I want to express my gratitude to both Kherson State University and the University of Kent for their commitment to students despite all challenges. My main goal was to represent the student council of the Faculty of Computer Science, Physics, and Mathematics and to demonstrate Ukraine’s independence and freedom through my example. Additionally, I assisted in career guidance for prospective students, hoping my international experience will inspire future applicants to join our university."

"This visit also allowed me to compare the educational systems of the two universities and learn about student organizations and their events. As a student council representative, this was invaluable. I sincerely thank everyone involved in this experience. Slava Ukraini!"

Anastasiia Koriagina – Study Tours to Poland

Anastasiia Koriagina, a 4th-year Computer Science student at KSU, participated in the Study Tours to Poland program.

As part of this initiative, a team of 15 students from Ukraine and Moldova visited Warsaw on April 29, 2024. The host organization was Federacja Mazowia.

During the 10-day visit, participants:

  • Engaged with NGOs,
  • Explored rural areas in different regions,
  • Gained insight into Poland’s internal structures,
  • Visited exhibitions, libraries, and youth centers.

Study Tours to Poland (STP) is an educational program for highly motivated students from Ukraine and Moldova who combine academic excellence with active civic engagement. It is organized by the Leaders of Change Foundation and the Borussia Foundation to promote international cooperation in education and research.

Daniil Zubkov – Semester Exchange at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poland

In the 1st semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, Daniil Zubkov, a 2nd-year student in Information Systems and Technologies, participated in a semester exchange at Adam Mickiewicz University (UAM), Poland through an academic mobility program.

Daniil’s experience:
"Student exchanges always bring new knowledge and connections, and that’s exactly what happened to me. During my studies, I met many people from Italy, France, Greece, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan. The semester flew by quickly but was incredibly productive. Professors were well-prepared and made every effort to engage us in their subjects."

"I chose courses such as IT Law, Linux, and Computer Applications. IT Law was the most crucial, as it’s impossible to work in programming without understanding copyright and legal aspects of IT. The Linux course taught me command-line operations and system security, while the Computer Applications course, led by the energetic and knowledgeable Mr. Ren, involved building Android apps in Android Studio, including secure login systems and note-taking apps."

"I still keep in touch with friends from Italy, France, and Kazakhstan—we exchange knowledge and support each other."
