Kherson State University was visited by the delegation from Turkey
On February 15, 2013 Plenipotentiary Ambassador ofTurkeytoUkraine- Mehmet Samsar, his wife and the Consul General of Turkey inOdessa- Husseiyn Erhani attendedKhersonStateUniversity. Rector Prof. Alexander Khodosovtsev participated actively in the negotiations with Turkish Diplomats. Also, the Dean of the Faculty of Translation and Interpretation Professor Vladislava Demetskaya and the Head of International Relations Office, Coordinator of Information Centre of EU at KSU - Eugenia Spivakovska were present at the meeting.
The aim of the honorary guests’ visit was to discuss possible areas of cooperation with Turkish universities and KSU, and the opportunities for Turkish students to study inUkraineand Ukrainian citizens inTurkey.
Plenipotentiary Ambassador ofTurkeyto Ukraine Mehmet Samsar pointed out thatKhersonStateUniversityis one of the best state universities in southern part ofUkraine. He confirmed thatTurkeyis interested in educational partnership withUkrainein particular with our University. Signing of cooperation agreements at the level of the leading Ukrainian andTurkishUniversitieswas the proof of it.
General Consul ofTurkeyinOdessa- Husseiyn Erhani said that cooperation betweenUkraineandTurkeyhas been greatly spread not only economy field, but also scientific and research ones. Therefore, more Turkish students receive (and would like to get) education inUkraine, and vice versa.
He noted that the issue about the cooperation between KSU and Yunus Emre Institute (Ankara) is under study by International Relations Office now. Future relationships calls foresees research and cultural projects with the ethnic and historical heritage of Ukrainian and Turkish nations. Various Ukrainian and Turkish projects will succeed bilateral contacts between educational institutions of our countries.
