The caricatures on display at the EU Information Center at KSU were kindly provided by the Hungarian Embassy and were presented to the city's residents from May 22 to 29, 2010. The exhibition is dedicated to the celebration of Europe Days 2010 in Ukraine in Kherson and the opening of the EU Information Center at KSU. A few words about the exhibition, the international cartoon competition was held in 2008, which the European Union declared the Year of Intercultural Dialogue. The competition, held in Budapest, was attended by 77 artists from 24 countries. The authoritative international jury announced two artists from Ukraine as the winners of the contest: Oleh Hutsul (1st place) and Volodymyr Kazanevsky (3rd place). The second place went to the work of Hungarian cartoonist Marabu. Since then, the exhibition of cartoons has been presented in Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, and the United States, and last year crossed the western border of Ukraine and had a great success in Zakarpattia.

A few words about the background of the idea to open an EU Information Center in Kherson. The idea came up a year ago, during the celebration of Europe Days 2009, which took place in Ternopil on May 23 and in Kryvyi Rih on May 30, and in Kyiv on May 16. The opening of working centers in Ukraine is necessary because Ukraine's relations with the EU have been relevant for many years, and even more so today. Now the EU Information Center at KSU offers everyone (schoolchildren, students, teachers, professors and all residents of Kherson and the region) to work with information materials: books, booklets, reference books, Eurobulletins. There is a large amount of literature at your service, where you can find information about the European Union, the European Parliament, the European Council, the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine, EU member states and candidate countries, EU-Ukraine relations, EU technical assistance programs in Ukraine, various information sources about the EU, Eurobulletins, Europe Days, key facts about Europe and Europeans, and a lot of other useful information.

Literature presented in the EU Information Center at KSU

The literature is presented in Ukrainian, Russian, English, and a small number of materials in French and German. The materials are constantly updated by the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Kyiv, and the European Commission, Brussels. Now that our center has been opened, everyone interested has the opportunity to visit the EU Information Center at KSU, located at 2 Universytetska Street, Kherson, and work with the necessary information resources.

Welcome to the Information Center at KSU!
