Third Generation Digitalization ( 3-G Digitalization)

Program: The Community College Administrator Program is a program of the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government, administered by Florida State University in partnership with Santa Fe College.

Project Budget: 3,955 $

Project Period:  April 2020 – March 31, 2021

The main goal is to provide ICT-skills to the older persons to develop their possibility to use modern digital facilities in everyday life.

  Goals:

  • creation of conditions for comprehensive development of the elderly and its promotion;
  • reintegration of the elderly into the active life of society;
  • popularization of digital society;
  • accumulation of adult education training experience;
  • improving the quality of life of older people by providing access to modern technologies and adaptation to technological transformations;
  • creating opportunities for broadening the circle of communication and sharing of experience of older people;
  • enhancing the positive image of the Kherson State University, as well as technical-vocational education within Ukraine.

To achieve the goals, the following activities will be carried out:

  • research of existing centers for older people;
  • analysis of U.S. good practices;
  • train the trainer sessions (staff selection, preparation and running sessions, lectures guide);
  • developing of selection criteria for students;
  • development of educational content;
  • conduction of the promotion company (info days, distributing materials, advertisement);
  • infrastructure preparation (training space preparation, purchasing of materials and literature);
  • conducting the first cycle of trainings for older people;
  • analysis of mid-project progress results (methodology recommendations, content quality control);
  • mid-project progress report;
  • implementation the second cycle of training activities;
  • financial and administrative management;
  • assessing project reports.

 

Ongoing project results:

  • 20 representatives of Kherson State University got certificates to the participants of the Zoom-webinar “Peculiarities of teaching the elderly”

 

- Advertising campaign.

- Information materials have been developed to ensure the implementation of the project: logo, information cards.

-          An introductory seminar was held for the teaching staff.

-          The process of cooperation with public organizations has been organized. An agreement on the provision of services has been concluded with the Public Union "Social Entrepreneurship" Center for Adult Education " Pershyi" Melitopol, Ukraine.

-          A cooperation agreement was concluded with the Ivan Ziaziun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.

-          10 experts in the field of lifelong learning were invited to conduct trainings for the academic staff.

-          4 participants from KSU took advanced training courses at the Ivan Ziaziun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine in remote form.

-          A questionnaire has been developed for the older people to determine the level of computer proficiency.

-          The selection criteria for project participants have been developed.

-          Training materials for the course "Fundamentals of Computer Literacy" have been developed.

-          An advertising campaign was carried out to attract the older people to participate in the course "Fundamentals of Computer Literacy".

-          Organizational meetings with course students were held.

-          Certificate templates for course participants have been developed.

-          Organizational meetings with course students were held.

-          28 participants of the course "Fundamentals of Computer Literacy" received the certificates..

-          In total, 54 participants were awarded certificates and souvenir gifts.
