    On June 16 and 18, 2026, the Department of Culture and Arts of Kherson State University held the final attestation of students pursuing the Bachelor’s degree in Specialty 034 “Cultural Studies.”

    The attestation marked the culmination of years of study, academic research, creative projects, and professional development of future specialists in the field of culture. During the final assessments, the students demonstrated profound knowledge of cultural studies, analytical thinking, a high level of professional competence, and readiness to pursue careers in culture, the arts, cultural policy, and creative industries.

    June 13, 2026 — a day filled with talent, art, and inspiring encounters.
    Another round of the Interregional Arts Competition “Artistic Path” took place in Lviv, bringing together talented performers and creative personalities from different regions of Ukraine.
    The Department of Culture and Arts was represented on the jury panel by Nataliia Tereshenko, Head of the Department of Culture and Arts, and Oksana Ponomarova, a master's student in the Cultural Studies program and Director of the Kherson Regional Palace of Culture.
    The competition became a wonderful platform for discovering new talents, exchanging creative experiences, and supporting the development of art and culture. It was a true celebration of creativity, professionalism, and inspiration, bringing together artists, educators, and cultural leaders in a shared artistic space. ✨🎭🎶

    From May 28–31, 2026, the International Arts Competition “U-Talent 2026” took place in Tel Aviv, Israel, bringing together talented performers, artists, educators, and cultural figures from around the world.

    We are especially proud that Mykola Levchenko, Professor of the Department of Culture and Arts at Kherson State University, was invited to serve on the panel of the competition’s highly professional international jury. Participation in the work of such a prestigious international arts event is a testament to the high level of expertise and international recognition of the faculty members of the Department of Culture and Arts at KSU.

    The faculty of the Department of Culture and Arts at Kherson State University actively participate in scientific events of various levels, presenting the results of their research and engaging in professional discussions.

    On June 4, 2026, Professor Lidiia Lymarenko and Professor Mykola Levchenko of the Department of Culture and Arts took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Art Without Borders: Creative Dialogues,” organized by Berdiansk State Pedagogical University.

    The conference provided an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss current issues in arts education and cultural development, and establish new professional connections with scholars and artists from different regions and countries.

    The lecturers of the Department of Culture and Arts actively participate in various competitions and festivals as jury members. The Head of the Department of Culture and Arts, Nataliia Tereshenko, served as a jury member of the VII All-Ukrainian Two-Round Festival and Competition of Arts “Folk Sources” in the nomination “Choreographic Art,” which was held from April 20 to May 10, 2026, at the Municipal Institution “Lozova Professional Higher College of Arts” of the Kharkiv Regional Council.

    📚✨ Professional development, new knowledge, and modern approaches to educational management!

    Nataliia Tereshchenko, Head of the Department of Culture and Arts at Kherson State University, successfully completed the Professional Development Program for Academic Managers, implemented by the British Council in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the World Bank within the framework of the project “Improving Higher Education in Ukraine for Results.”

    🎓 During the program, participants explored key areas of modern academic management:
    🔹 the role of the university in the context of social transformations;
    🔹 strategic planning in conditions of uncertainty;
    🔹 personnel management;
    🔹 finance, resources, and project management.

    📖 The program lasted 180 hours / 6 ECTS credits and concluded with the presentation of an institutional change project at the conference.

    Participation in such international educational initiatives is an important step toward the development of modern, high-quality, and competitive higher education in Ukraine

    Сonference on the problems and prospects for the development of choreographic art was held

    On May 22, 2026, the Department of Culture and Arts of Kherson State University hosted the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Problems and Prospects for the Development of Choreographic Art,” which brought together scholars, lecturers, choreographers, artists, postgraduate students, and students from different regions of Ukraine.

    The conference addressed актуal issues related to the development of contemporary choreographic art and arts education. Participants discussed:
    ▫️ professional training of future choreographers;
    ▫️ the combination of traditions and innovations in choreographic education;
    ▫️ the significance of Ukrainian folk dance in preserving national identity;
    ▫️ current trends in ballet and stage art development;
    ▫️ the festival industry and its influence on choreographic education;
    ▫️ interpretation and creative approaches in the work of choreographers and ballet masters;
    ▫️ the role of dance in emotional recovery and art therapy practices;
    ▫️ the development of contemporary choreography, hip-hop culture, and the formation of the new-generation dancer’s personality;
    ▫️ the creation of a creative and immersive environment in the training of future artists.

    During the plenary session, leading experts in choreography, culture, and the arts presented insightful and engaging reports.

    We sincerely thank all participants for their active involvement, professional dialogue, exchange of experience, and valuable contribution to the development of choreographic art in Ukraine.

    ✨ The conference became an important platform for creative interaction, academic research, and the formation of new perspectives for the development of contemporary choreography.

    By the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 383/2026 dated May 15, 2026, “On Awarding Scholarships of the President of Ukraine to Young Writers and Artists in the Fields of Music, Theatre, Fine Arts, Choreographic, Variety and Circus Arts, and Cinema,” a Presidential Scholarship of Ukraine was awarded to Yelyzaveta Khomenko — a ballet artist of the Dnipro Opera and Ballet Theatre and a third-year student majoring in Choreography at Kherson State University.

    ✨ The 13th All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists and Students Took Place! ✨

    On May 15, 2026, the Department of Culture and Arts of Kherson State University brought together researchers, educators, students, and artists to discuss current issues related to culture, art, education, and national identity.

    The conference participants delivered insightful presentations dedicated to:
    🔹 Ukraine’s cultural heritage in times of war;
    🔹 transformations of the contemporary artistic space;
    🔹 the phenomenon of frontline culture;
    🔹 the role of art in shaping national consciousness;
    🔹 new trends in theatrical, cultural, and pedagogical discourse.

    Representatives of Kherson State University, Ivan Ziaziun Institute of Pedagogical and Adult Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Mariupol State University, Izmail State University of Humanities, Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, and other higher education institutions of Ukraine joined the academic discussion.

    On April 29, 2026, on International Dance Day, the Head of the Department of Culture and Arts at Kherson State University, Nataliia Tereshchenko, together with students of the program “Performing Arts. Choreographic Art,” attended the scientific and practical conference “Choreographic Heritage” held at KNU.

    The event was dedicated to outstanding figures of Ukrainian dance — Ya. Chuparchuk, V. Petryk, and V. Chuparchuk, whose creative work has become an important part of the development of national choreographic culture.

    🎭 Participation in the conference provided a valuable opportunity for students to engage in professional dialogue, deepen their knowledge of choreographic heritage, and feel the connection between generations in the art of dance.

    On the occasion of International Dance Day, on April 28 the Department of Culture and Arts of Kherson State University, together with the Student Parliament of the Kherson City Council, held a vibrant and meaningful event titled “The World of Choreography: From Origins to Modernity.”

    Participants had the opportunity to explore the history of dance, trace its evolution from folk roots to contemporary stage forms, and experience how choreography reflects the spirit of its time and the cultural identity of society.

    🎭 The atmosphere of the event was filled with creativity, inspiration, and genuine emotions. Discussions, presentations, and live interaction once again proved that dance is a universal language that unites hearts and opens new horizons.

    ✨ From the Carpathians to the Black Sea — the voice of young Ukraine resounds!

    On April 28, 2026, the 2nd All-Ukrainian Recitation Contest “The Voice of Young Ukraine” was held in both in-person and дистанційний (online) formats. The event was organized by the Department of Culture and Arts of Kherson State University in cooperation with the Department of Performing Arts and Choreography of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University.

    This year, the contest brought together 27 participants (12 in person and 17 online) from different cities of Ukraine: Kherson, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhia. Sincere emotions, depth of expression, and the power of artistic recitation created a unique atmosphere of unity and creative inspiration 💙💛

    Importantly, during the event, funds were raised to support Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers on the Kherson front. Culture unites, inspires, and supports!

Through exercises in emotion, improvisation, and interaction, students immerse themselves in the world of theatrical art, which is an essential component of professional training for a modern artist.

    20 скульптур, історія яких нагадає про найважливіше

    Скульптура-інсталляція «Поглинуті світлом», Амстердам

     

    Робота британської художниці Галі Май Лукас (Gali May Lucas) в межах Амстердамського фестивалю світла покликана підкреслити одержимість технологіями і залежність людей від смартфонів. Три фігури сидять на лавці у звичних позах користувачів смартфонів: схиливши голови, набираючи повідомлення, їхні обличчя підсвічені екраном. За словами автора, її завданням було донести думку про те, що людей постійно тягне до екранів, які освітлюють життя, але світло від них не тільки доносить інформацію, але і відводить нас від реального світу.

    Скульптура присвячена унікальній історії Луїджі Педутто та Мокрини Юрзук, любов яких подолала час і відстані. Пара познайомилась у 1943 році в австрійському таборі для військовополонених. Після закінчення війни закоханих розлучили. Надалі вони завели свої сім’ї, жили, але продовжували пам’ятати одне про одного, і майже через 60 років італієць відшукав кохану через передачу «Чекай на мене».

    Коли закохані зустрілись, їм було вже за 80. Луїджі запропонував Мокрині руку і серце, але, на жаль, вони так і не встигли одружитись. Скульптура стала символом любові, яку можна пронести через все життя. Копію київського пам’ятника встановили у рідному місті Луїджі – італійському Кастель-Сан-Лоренцо.

    Французский художник Эрик Ле Пап (Eric Le Pape) родился в Бретоне. Практически сразу после школы пошёл служить на флот, а закончив карьеру моряка, решил целиком посвятить себя живописи. Пишет исключительно мастихином и акриловой краской. Доминирующая тема его картин - пейзажи побережья Франции.
