On February 10, 2026, a meeting was held with 11th-grade students of Bilozerskyi Lyceum No. 1 named after O. Ya. Pecherskyi of the Bilozerska Settlement Council, Kherson District. The event was organized and conducted by the Department of English Philology and World Literature named after Professor Oleh Mishukov and hosted by Professor O. O. Zabolotska and Associate Professor K. S. Frantsuzova.

The students received information about studying in the following degree programs: Philology. Germanic Languages and Literatures (including Translation), major – English and Secondary Education. English Language and World Literature. They also learned about the advantages of distance learning, completing assignments on the KSU-Online platform, the use of modern digital technologies, and opportunities to study abroad through dual degree programs and semester exchange programs at universities in Poland and Austria.

During the English language workshop, the students had the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a class at Kherson State University and become acquainted with the possibilities of teaching foreign languages at the university level.

On December 23, 2025, a career guidance event was held with students of the Kherson Academic Lyceum named after Professor Oleh Mishukov. The meeting was organized and conducted by Professor O. O. Zabolotska and Associate Professor K. S. Frantsuzova. The event was attended by 11th-grade students studying in the fields of journalism, Ukrainian and foreign philology, and international economics.

The participants received interesting and useful information about the areas of training offered by the Department of English Philology and World Literature named after Professor Oleh Mishukov, the student-centered paradigm of education across various specialties, opportunities for free choice of educational components, and courses on the KSU Online platform that expand knowledge in specific subject areas of academic programs and help consolidate acquired skills.

During a workshop on the course “Practice of Oral and Written English” conducted by K. S. Frantsuzova, the students experienced the atmosphere of a class at Kherson State University. Various types of speech activities using gamification and cloud technologies created a lively atmosphere of creative collaboration.

Over the course of two days — November 12 and 13, 2025 — Alisa Biletska, a student intern from Kherson State University, together with Olga Zubrova, an associate professor at the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology, Journalism and Arts, held an engaging career-guidance event for 11th-grade students of Kherson Multidisciplinary Lyceum No. 20.

At first, the organizers immersed the students in the world of Kherson State University. They spoke about the faculty’s academic programs, shared the specifics of studying and the advantages of student life, and showed a vibrant video about the faculty. The students listened with interest and actively discussed the opportunities of future studies in fields related to foreign language learning.

Next, everyone moved on to an exciting country studies topic about the United States. They talked about interesting facts, culture, symbols, and famous places of the country. The presentation captured everyone’s attention, and the interactive quiz game at the end turned the event into a true knowledge show! The atmosphere was incredibly lively, friendly, and emotional! Everyone enjoyed the communication and the game immensely. The students showed maximum energy and enthusiasm — it was interesting, informative, and dynamic!

We look forward to continued fruitful cooperation between the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology, Journalism and Arts of KSU and Kherson Multidisciplinary Lyceum No. 20! We invite the lyceum’s students to join our faculty in the next academic year!

On 19 March 2024, Associate Professor Nataliia Potorii organised a career guidance meeting with future applicants, students of the Borozen support institution of full general secondary education of the Borozen village council of the Kherson region (Beryslav district).

On December 16, 2025, a career guidance event was organized for students of Lyceum No. 6 of the Kherson City Council. Students and teachers from schools of the region also joined the event, in particular Beryslav Lyceum No. 3, Skadovsk Lyceum No. 3, Kherson Lyceum No. 57, and Kherson Lyceum No. 38 (Zelenivka).

The event was conducted by Professor O.O. Zabolotska of the Department of English Philology and World Literature named after Professor Oleh Mishukov, as well as Associate Professors K.S. Frantsuzova and A.V. Vorobiova of the same department.

The students received interesting information about the student-centered educational strategy at Kherson State University, which allows students, in addition to compulsory educational components of a particular specialty, to choose courses from other fields of knowledge. They also learned about opportunities to expand their knowledge of specific courses on the KSU Online platform, assess their level of competence by taking tests and completing creative tasks, attend foreign language clubs, and participate in engaging events related to their chosen specialty.

The students had the opportunity to hear the opinions of former graduates of our higher education institution, which demonstrated the transparency of the information provided and increased their interest.

The English language workshop immersed the students in a foreign-language environment, demonstrated the possibility of developing all types of speech activity and translation skills through cloud technologies, and created a lively atmosphere of creative work. The students attended their first class as learners of Kherson State University and felt confident in their knowledge, the formation of lexical, grammatical, and phonetic skills, as well as their ability to translate video materials.

Such events have already become a tradition in the cooperation between the department and Lyceum No. 6 and contribute to motivating students to enroll at Kherson State University.

11th grade students got acquainted with the specialties accredited by the department and are recruiting applicants for studies in the specialties 035 Philology and 014 Secondary Education.
The students were interested in the opportunity to study for double diplomas and choose their own study path, which is a priority at the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology and Journalism. Professor Zabolotska O.O. spoke about the educational process, which is based on the language learned using cloud technologies, educational platforms and artificial intelligence, and gamification. The highlight of the study is communication with native speakers, albeit remotely, who are involved in cooperation with the scientists of the department as guest lecturers.
The creation of the ksu online system at the university aroused great interest, which allows the applicant to take an educational course and complete assignments at a convenient time.
And of course, the students were informed about the high rating of the university among Ukrainian universities, which gave confidence in the high level of educational services provided by our faculty and the department in particular.
