The Success of Our Students at the 10th International Student Translation Contest
During February, students of the department took part in the 10th International Student Translation Contest “New Worlds: Translation as a Tool of Knowledge” (2026), organized by the Department of Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies of Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian State University.
According to the results of the contest:
2nd place in the category “Translation of a Ukrainian song into English” was awarded to Alina Kalashnikova (Group 302).

On December 10, the traditional annual English Language Olympiad was held for first-year full-time and part-time Master’s students.
Participants demonstrated a high level of proficiency by completing test tasks and writing an essay.
The jury consisted of:
O.A. Zubrova — Head of the Jury, Associate Professor,
K.S. Frantsuzova — Jury Member, Associate Professor.
According to the results of the Olympiad, the prize places were awarded as follows:
1st place — Mykola Huk (79 points)
2nd place — Lesia Bolets and Anastasiia Kyrychenko (77 points each)
3rd place — Nataliia Khlybova (70 points)
4th place — Alla Shvorob (61 points)

🇬🇧 Translation Contest – 2025 to the International Translation Day Concluded!
The annual Translation Contest – 2025, traditionally organized by the Department of Specialized Translation and Foreign Languages of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, Management and Business at Kherson National Technical University, has successfully come to an end!
This year, the contest received a record-breaking 138 entries — poetic, prose, and journalistic translations from Ukrainian, English, and German.
Participants included university students (bachelor’s and master’s levels) and high school students from grades 9–11 representing different regions of Ukraine.

Congratulations on the Victory in the International Student Research Competition in Philology!
We sincerely congratulate Nika Malanii, a first-year Master's student majoring in Philology, and her academic advisor — Professor O.O. Zabolotska — on their brilliant victory in the International Student Research Competition in Philology, where Nika won 1st place!
On June 6, the final stage of the competition took place — the defense of research papers in the format of an online conference. Based on the evaluation of the expert committee, Nika Malanii was invited to the final as the author of one of the best student research papers.
During her presentation, she honorably represented our university, department, and academic program, demonstrating a high level of scholarly preparation, analytical thinking, and academic maturity.

On April 17-18, 2025, the XIV All-Ukrainian Student Scientific and Practical Conference “Foreign Languages in the Modern Communicative Space” was held, co-organized by the Department of English Philology and World Literature named after Professor Oleg Mishukov.
A member of the conference program committee, head of the department, associate professor Kishchenko Yu.V. delivered a welcoming speech.
The members of the organizing committee and heads of the conference sections were associate professors Zubrova O.A. and Khan O.G.
The conference was attended by 22 master's students who carry out their research under the guidance of professors and associate professors of the Department of English Philology and World Literature named after Professor Oleg Mishukov.
