8.10-17.10.2014. Participation of the KSU academical staff in coordination meeting of the project TEMPUS-CruiseT in Georgia

 

 

                             

 

        From 08.10.2014 till 17.10.2014 p. the academical staff of KhersonStateUniversity was on the business trip inGeorgia. KSU delegation consisted of 4 persons, including: the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Human Health and Tourism, assistant professor, Lavrykova O.V., the Head of International Relations Office Kulyk A.I., the senior lecturer of Chair of Human Health Sharko V.V. and the senior lecturer of Chair of Tourism Vasylieva N.O.

        The name of the project is «Network of competence centers for the development of cruise tourism in theBlack Searegion» and it is financed by the European Union. The Fist Vice-rector of Kherson State University, Professor A.V. Spivakovsky and the staff of International Relations Office together with Faculty of Natural Sciences, Human Health and Tourism headed by the Dean, assistant professor, Lavrykova O.V. have used every effort to win this project, supported by the EU, with other national and international universities-partners. The realization of this project has been started in December, 2013; the project is aimed at the development of cruise infrastructure in the countries of Black Sea Region, improvement of organizational and staff assistance of the tourism industry. The creation of competence centers will allow to join efforts of scientists, local government, travel companies and seaport in order to support objectives.

        The scientists of KSU participated in holding the coordination meeting of project participants "543681-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-DE-TEMPUS-JPHES-CruiseT" concerning the creation of network of competence centers regarding development of cruise tourism in the Black Sea Region (Georgia and Ukraine). Within this project the participants visited a few educational institutions of Georgia, such as: Batumi State Maritime Academy (BSMA), Kutaisi University (KU), Guram Tavartkiladze Teaching University (GTTU) and Caucasus International University (CIU). The delegation from KSU actively participated in function of international project.

        The presentations of the invited guests of the coordination meeting, such as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Mrs. Maya Panjikidze, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Mr. Mr. Giorgi Sharvashidze, the Head of the National Office Erasmus +, Mrs. Lika Glonti; the Head of National Administration of Tourism, Mrs. Rusudan Mamatsashvili were represented to the participants of the meeting.

        According to results of work in the project "Tempus CruiseT" the holding of the next meeting is planned in September, 2015 atKhersonStateUniversity. Due to the joint efforts of the project participants (there’re 21 university-partners: inGermany,Italy,Slovakia,Romania,Bulgaria,Georgia) the cruise tourism in the Black Sea Region receives new breathing and new opportunities for its further development.
