From May, 14 till May, 16 2015 , the Dean of Faculty of Natural Science, Human Health and Tourism, associate professor Oksana Lavrykova, Head of the Department of Tourism, Associate Professor Vitalii Yurchenko, Senior Lecturer of the Department Human Health Natalia Vasylieva participated in the II Tauride Tourism Congress which was held in Nova Kakhovka of Kherson Region.
The meeting brought together about 150 people. Among them there were the Direction of the Kherson Regional State Administration, representatives of central and regional authorities, professionals and experts from Georgia, Deputy Heads of Regional State Administrations and Cities, City Heads of Regional Centers, responsible for tourism and resort area, academics, businessmen, representatives of non-governmental organization, travel business, media.
The initiators of Tauride Tourist Congress holding were Kherson Regional State Administration and the non-governmental organization "Tauride Association of Territorial Communities".
The main aim of the Congress is to promote the development of domestic and incoming tourism, promotion of tourism opportunities of Ukrainian regions and Kherson region, establishing of business and partnership relations between the tourism market representatives.
At the meeting joint innovation projects of Kherson Regional Administration (Department of Internal and Information Policy, Department of Tourism and Resorts), Kherson Regional Charity Fund "Association " and Google Ukraine. The project was called "Project implementation “Digital reformation of Kherson region - Google technology for presenting of tourist attractiveness of the region ".
In the plenary part of the meeting the floor was given to Shkarupa Serhii - Deputy Head of Department of External Economic Activity, Tourism and Resorts of Kherson Regional State Administration; to Khomenko Oleh – Head of the Department of scientific-educational support and business development in rural areas of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine; Liptuha Ivan - adviser in issues of Tourism of Ministry of Economics, Trade and Industry of Ukraine; Stefanovych Andrii - executive director of the Association of hospitality industry of Ukraine; Nazar Yavorskyi - Deputy Director of Department of Infrastructure Development, Transport and Tourism, Head of development management of tourism infrastructure of Ternopil Regional State Administration; David Kizirii – expert in attracting investment and sustainable growth of territories.
Also there were the presentations made by participants of the international project Tempus 4 CruiseT. They outlined ways of implementing of European experience in tourism educational environment in Georgia and Ukraine. Roman Mamuladze - Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management of Batumi Maritime Academy, Professor, National Project Coordinator of the Tempus 4 CruiseT in Georgia told about the essential realities and prospects of tourism in Adjara. Emzar Kakhidze, the Associate Professor of Batumi State University reported on the topic "Cultural tourism in Adjara." Oksana Lavrykova - Dean of the Faculty of Natural Science, Human Health and Tourism, Associate Professor, Coordinator of the International Project Tempus 4 CruiseT from Kherson State University made the presentation on the topic "Implementation of European cooperation in the field of tourism under the Tempus 4 CruiseT Project.
Then members of Congress worked in sections of marketing and territories promotion:
- hotel business;
- restaurant business;
- Souvenir as part of tourism attraction, a means of territory promoting;
- Business tourism, event tourism, wine tourism;
- Management of the tourism sector at regional level.
On May 15-16 advertising and study tours to tourist sites of Kherson region under individual programs took place. Lectures from Georgia and Ukraine, along with other meeting participants took part in the eco-etnofestival "Tavriiski Khutory" and visited tourist sites of Kherson region.
During the II Tauride Tourism Congress close business and partnership relations between representatives of science, business and management in the tourism industry of Georgia and Ukraine were established.
