Educational program "Double diploma"

The Double Diploma educational program is joint educational program of Ukrainian and foreign universities. This program enables Ukrainian students to take courses in integrated curricula in two educational institutions in different countries at the same time and receive two diplomas from Ukrainian and European universities.

The Double Diploma educational program complies with the laws of Ukraine and Poland on higher education. Students enrolled in KSU are eligible to participate in the Program.

According to the Double Diploma educational program, a student studies at the same time according to the general curriculum of two universities and is a student of both educational institutions.

The aim of the Double Diploma educational program at the University is to provide students of Kherson State University with the opportunity to gain experience of studying at a foreign university and expand the possibilities of professional training, and increase their level of competitiveness in future employment.

Erasmus+ Mobility 

Also, at the end of March 2016, 2 KSU staff trained at one of the partner universities - the Alpen-Adria University in Klagenfurt, one of the important results of discussing the details of cooperation that would facilitate activities in a variety of fields, from student and faculty exchanges, joint Research, and ending with the implementation of joint projects and programs, became the fact that our University has joined the ERASMUS program (КА1. Educational mobility). Two KSU students have the opportunity to study at Alpen-Adria University for the educational qualification levels "Specialist", "Master" or "Postgraduate student" on the following winter semester and to receive a scholarship of 850 Euros. And also two teachers have a great opportunity for 45 days to undergo an internship there with a daily allowance of 140 euros.

The joint project with European partners of the ERASMUS project «Creation of a modern master's program in information systems».

The main goal of the project is to create a modern master's program in Information Systems in European and Ukrainian universities for  enhance the competencies of workers in the labor market in accordance with the requirements of employers.

In 2017, the process of organizing mobility began as the part of the Erasmus + Program for students and teachers of KSU with Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. Vysochanskaya Maria ( the student of the Faculty of Biology, Geography and Ecology) studied at KSU partner university(Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland) from 10/02/2017 to 02/21/2018 as part of the Erasmus + Program;

23 - 29 May, 2018, the head of the Department of Human Biology and Immunology, Gasyuk Elena and associate professor of the Department, Beschasny Sergey from the Faculty of Biology, Geography and Ecology passed internship at the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, Poland. The internship was carried out as part of the Erasmus + program according the agreement signed between universities.

 From 10.10.2018 + and from 02.22.2019 to 07.07.2019, Karplyuk Valentina and Raksha Elena (the students of 311 groups of the Faculty of Biology, Geography and Ecology) studied at KSU partner university (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland) as a part of the Erasmus +Program according to the agreement signed between  universities.

From 24.04.2019 to 07.27.2019, Likhosherstova Valeria ( student of the Faculty of Foreign Philology, specialty 035.041 Philology (Germanic languages and literature (translation inclusive), the first - English) studied at KSU partner university (Otto Friedrich University, Bamberg, Germany) as part of the Erasmus + program according to the agreement signed between  universities..


International KSU students and teachers mobility

Report for 2016-2017 year

The Department of International Relations is a structural unit of Kherson State University.

In the 2016-2017 academic years, KSU was involved in this grant projects:

Tempus CruiseT «The Regional competence centre for the development of cruise tourism in the Black Sea region «Cruise Black Sea». Also the  representatives of Kherson State University: the Assistant  to the Dean of  the  Faculty of  Natural Science, Human Health and Tourism  Vasylieva  Nataliia, the Associate Professor  Sharko Vitalii,  Senior Lecturer  Vasylevska  Yanina and  Assistant Kariuhina Alica have joined this event. Also employees of the Department of External Economic Activity, Tourism and Resorts of  Kherson Regional State Administration (KRSA), staff  and students of  the Odessa Maritime Academy, representatives of  Department  of  culture and tourism of  Odessa City Council,  Administration  of  the Odessa Sea  Port  and  public  organizations also have taken part in the working meeting. Discussion of the current work and the further directions of the Association project was the purpose of the working meeting.

From the April, 1 till April, 08, 2016 the working meeting in the framework of the international project TEMPUS «CruiseT» was held in Bolzano (Italy). In this meeting the project teams from Georgia, Ukraine, Slovakia, Germany and Italy took part, and also the representatives of the Kherson State University.   The  main  purpose of  the meeting was holding on the basis  of  the  research centre EURAC  training courses  in the framework  of  the practical training of  lecturers  by areas of activity: management of  tourist destinations and  the development  of the tourist product, the hospitality and hotel  management and green tourism. 

From 11th to 18th June, 2016 the staff of KSU has participated in the coordination meeting of the international project Tempus CruiseT in Constanta (Romania). The delegation of KSU consisted of 3 persons as follows: the Vice-Rector for International Relations and Communication Technologies; the Assistant to the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Science, Human Health and Tourism, the Head of the regional centre of tourism development in the Kherson region.

Since September 4th till September 10th 2016 Coordination meeting in frame of the International Project Tempus “CruiseT” was held in Batumi, in which Project Commands from seven countries took part. Summary meetings were during the event, on which the results of all planned activity stages, provided for the Project during 3 years, were presented. Also the representatives of Kherson State University had an opportunity to complete an internship in development and promotion of the tourism product.

On May 4th, 2017 a meeting of the Association members "Regional Cruise Tourism Development Competence Center in the Black Sea Region" Cruise Black Sea "was held. The event was joined by Kherson State University representatives. The purpose of the working meeting was the discussion of questions of the tourism promotion in the Black Sea Region and attracting investments in the Black Sea Region through the development of economically and scientifically credible business plans for the Tourism Industry.

 In February 2017, representatives of KSU were attended the workshop at the Technological University (Luleå, Sweden), and in April 2017, the seminar was held within the framework of the project on the basis of the University of Münster (Germany).

 

International KSU students and teachers mobility

Report for 2015-2016 year


 Indicators of increasing student mobility. Students are trained and study at Foreign Partner Universities in accordance with the Cooperation Agreements and participate in summer camps, schools, international programs, exchanges, competitions, world cup, championships, tournaments, etc., where they can not only learn, receive new knowledge, know-how, but also improve foreign language skills, travel to countries and even earn. If in 2012-2014 these indicators were at the level of 30-35 students, then in 2014-2016, the indicators increased to the mark of more than 100 students. From September 2015 to the present time, 58 students from 9 KSU faculties trained in the Republic of Poland, Germany, Austria and the USA. For example, among the priority programs, every year, students from different faculties study twice a year for two semesters at the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk (Poland).

"Double Degree" Program Implementation is also a priority direction for KSU development. So, in 2013, an Agreement was signed between KSU and the University of Economics in Bydgoszcz (Poland) to organize Double Degree course in the direction "Physical education (management in sport)." Currently, 9 students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports study under this program. In 2014, an Agreement on the "Double Degree" Program Implementation between KSU and Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk was signed. If at the beginning of 2015 11 students of the Faculty of Pre-School and Elementary Education were able to assess the benefits of this cooperation, then in early 2016, the number of students increased almost twice. Currently, 21 students at the Faculty of Pre-School and Primary Education are studying under this program. A good example of contractual relations was supported by other faculties. So in the summer of 2015, two students of the Faculty of Culture and Arts also became students of this Academy.

Also, 1 student at the Law Faculty of KSU is studying at the Academy of Hotel Management and Restaurant Business in Poland, 1 student at the Faculty of Economics and Management obtains education at the Vienna University of Vienna (Austria), 1 student at the Faculty of Translation Studies is studying at the Friedrich Schiller University in Yen (Germany).

Our students activity can be seen in other programs as well. For example, the students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports constantly take part in training sessions, Olympic games, world cup, European and world championships, university courses and international tournaments, where they take prizes and raise the level and status of our University. 27 students go abroad every year to take part in the "Work and Travel" Program. Other students take part in International Projects, Conferences, trainings, seminars, action forums, schools, both in Ukraine and abroad.

Also the teachers of our University are involved to such types of internships. For 2015-2016 years more than 20 instructors were on business trips abroad, who upgraded their qualifications in Poland, Belarus, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, France, Austria, Belgium, and other countries, for example: research internship within the framework of the SemData Project "Researchers International Exchange Scheme named after Maria Curie" at Madrid Technological University (Spain) and internship at the University of Higher School of Computer Science WSIiU, the town of Lodz (Poland)" Modern University - a Design Approach to Work Organization in accordance with the provisions of the European Qualifications Framework".

International KSU students and teachers mobility

Report for 2009-2015 year  

There is a department of international relations on the basis of KSU; it helps to establish contacts with various foreign universities and organizations.

In 2009-2013, more than 140 teachers were sent for internships and their professional development in Poland, Belarus, China, Turkey, the USA, Hungary, etc. In 2014-2015 more than 20 teachers were on business trips abroad and their professional development in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Finland and other countries( nine of them went abroad for internships, training and professional development, two for teaching and one for research purposes.

From June 16th till June 21st, 2014, the II Coordination meeting of the Project participants of the European Committee TEMPUS “Regional competence centre for the development of cruise tourism in the Black Sea Region” was held in the city of Bremerhaven. The partners from Germany and Italy, Romania and Bulgaria, Georgia and Ukraine discussed plans of the competence centers development and their contribution in such areas in cruise tourism as «workshops», «research/consulting», identified the priorities of the centers development.

The meeting program was rich by presentations, plans discussion of the centers development, seminars, reports, conferences and excursions. In particular, the partners got acquainted with Bremerhaven University and listened to the presentations on different topics, as follows: «Education opportunities in Germany (as the master program alternative)», «Cruise tourism Management», «Educational programs in cruise tourism», «Absence of qualified specialists in cruise sphere» and others. Also, the number of informative seminars, workshops as to the research and consulting in cruise tourism was held, presentations as for the plans of the cruise tourism development were led in the regions from the project partners of Georgia, Ukraine, Germany.

From 08.10.2014 till 17.10.2014 p. the academical staff of Kherson State University was on the business trip in Georgia. KSU delegation consisted of 4 persons, including: the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Human Health and Tourism, the Head of International Relations Office, the senior lecturer of Chair of Human Health and the senior lecturer of Chair of Tourism. The scientists of KSU participated in holding the coordination meeting of project participants "543681-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-DE-TEMPUS-JPHES-CruiseT" concerning the creation of network of competence centers regarding development of cruise tourism in the Black Sea Region (Georgia and Ukraine). Within this project the participants visited a few educational institutions of Georgia, such as: Batumi State Maritime Academy (BSMA)Kutaisi University (KU), Guram Tavartkiladze Teaching University (GTTU) and Caucasus International University (CIU). The delegation from KSU actively participated in function of international project.

From 13.12.2014 till 21.12.2014 lecturer of the Chair of Human Health of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Human Health and Tourism of the Kherson State University Nataliia Vasylieva was on the business trip in the Paderborn (Germany). Vasylieva Nataliia passed training and professional development in the University of Paderborn in the framework of the Tempus Project ("543681-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-DE-TEMPUS-JPHES-CruiseT"). Within the frame of the scientific training the organization and methodological support of academic activity at the University of Paderborn were studied. The principal directions of quality improvement of the university management on the basis of use of modern information technologies were also revealed. Advices from Dr Viachaslau Nikitsin were got (concerning the program content of training and professional development at university, the directions of cooperation of KSU and the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Human Health and Tourism within the Tempus CruiseT project). Nataliia Vasylieva studied recreational facilities of the general specialization and special resort institutions of the region for health-improving, rehabilitation and medical needs of visitors (Bad Lippspringe, Bad Driburg, Horn-Bad Meinberg, Bad Wünnenberg). The organization of mass cultural events of the region (Weihnachtsfest 2014 Paderborn/Delmond) was investigated.        During the scientific training and professional development the system knowledge of the content, principles of organization and competence of design and realization of recreational services in the field of medical and health-improving tourism in Germany was formed.      

From 26, July, 2015 till 31, July, 2015 Kherson State University employees were on a business trip in the city of Paderborn (Germany). The meeting was also attended by Georgian, Ukrainian partners and project coordinators of the EU. Project partners have discussed the results of students’ researches of educational institutions of Ukraine and Georgia (July 2015) in the framework of the project TEMPUS 4-CruiseT. The employee has presented the presentation and discussed the results of field research in the Kherson region. Also she has identified priority tasks for the regional center for tourism development.

    The most common universities and programs in which KSU students and graduate students took part:

- Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk (Poland) - under the Double Diploma program;

- University of Alpen-Adria, Klagenfurt (Austria) - semester training, two-week internship;

- Academy of Jan Dlugosh (Czestochowa, Poland) - two-week internship (for example, 6 students of KSU in 2014)

- Higher School of Economics in Bydgoszcz (Poland) - training under the Double Diploma program;

- DAAD Academic Exchange Program -  (14 students participated in 2013)

- "Work and Travel" - about 20 students per year.
