The programme is focused on the hospitality sector, event service and gastronomic culture, as well as on the role of the hotel and restaurant business in the recovery of the Kherson region.
Hospitality, service and catering

The educational programme combines management of hotel and restaurant establishments, service standards, catering and event management with current trends in the hospitality industry.

Students understand how hotels, restaurants, cafés and catering companies work, how guest spaces, menus, event formats and guest experiences are designed.

The educational process includes:

  • basics of hotel and restaurant technologies and service;
  • organisation of catering, banquets, events and off-site service;
  • core principles of management, marketing and finance in hospitality;
  • work with real cases, including local brands and recovery initiatives.

First (bachelor’s) level

Bachelor in Hotel and Restaurant Business and Catering

The starting level for those who want to work in hotels, restaurants, cafés and catering companies and be involved in organising events and service for guests.

Duration of study: 3 years 10 months (bachelor)
Modes of study: full-time / part-time (according to the Admission Rules of KSU).

You will learn to:
  • understand service standards in hotels and restaurants;
  • organise guest service in different formats (hall, buffet, banquet, off-site catering);
  • work in a service team and communicate with guests;
  • use basic digital tools in service management;
  • comply with safety, hygiene and quality requirements in the hospitality industry.
Practice during bachelor’s studies:
  • educational and industrial internships in catering establishments, hotels and service companies;
  • participation in organising events, festivals and catering activities;
  • first individual and team service mini-projects.
Second (master’s) level

Master in Hotel and Restaurant Business and Catering

A continuation of studies for those who want to move towards managing hospitality establishments, developing service concepts and projects in catering and events.

Duration of study: 1 year 4 months (master)
Admission: based on a bachelor’s degree (hotel and restaurant business, tourism, management or other related fields), according to the Admission Rules.

Focus of the master’s programme:
  • management of hotel and restaurant complexes and service teams;
  • development of service concepts, menus, event and catering formats;
  • marketing and branding in the hospitality sector;
  • planning and analysing the effectiveness of service events and catering projects;
  • master’s research based on real business or community cases.
Opportunities for master’s students:
  • participation in joint projects with businesses and local communities;
  • work on service solutions for regional recovery and promotion;
  • preparation for managerial positions in hotel and restaurant business and catering.
