The history of the department

The history of the Department of Finance, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship at Kherson State University is marked by numerous significant events.

In 1998, the Department of Economic and Legal Disciplines was established, and the economic department was opened within the activities of the Economic and Legal Faculty of Kherson State University for the first time.

In 2003, a separate Department of Enterprise Economics was created, and the specialization "Enterprise Economics" was introduced, initially at the bachelor's level, later followed by the master's level.

Since 2011, the department has been headed by Dr. of Economic Sciences, Professor Mohnenko A.S.

In 2015, the specialization "Enterprise Economics" was replaced with "Economics", and the department became the graduating department with specialization in "Economics" (with a focus on Enterprise Economics) at both bachelor's and master's levels.

In 2016, the department introduced the specializations "Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Exchange Activities" and "Finance, Banking, and Insurance" at the bachelor's level, leading to the renaming of the department to the Department of Economics, Finance, and Entrepreneurship.

In 2017, the department opened the specialization "Accounting and Taxation" at the master's level and was renamed the Department of Finance, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship.

In 2020, the educational programs "Accounting and Taxation" at the master's level and "Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Exchange Activities" at the bachelor's level were accredited by the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (NAQA).

In 2021, the educational program "Finance, Banking, and Insurance" at the bachelor's level was accredited by NAQA.

Since 2022, the department has been headed by Dr. of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Petrenko V.S.

Currently, the Department of Finance, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship operates within the Faculty of Business and Law at Kherson State University and is the graduating department for bachelor's level specialists in the fields of Secondary Education (Labor Education and Technologies), Vocational Education (Agricultural Production, Agricultural Product Processing, and Food Technologies), Finance, Banking, Insurance, and master's level specialists in Secondary Education (Labor Education and Technologies), Vocational Education (Agricultural Production, Agricultural Product Processing, and Food Technologies), and Accounting.
