Educational visit at the base of the Latvian University Latvijas Universitätes Izglitibas zūtnu un psihologijas fakulate (Riga, Latvia)
From September 23 to 27, 2024, an educational visit is being held, which is part of the Erasmus+ KA2 project "Increasing the psychological stability and well-being of the university community in (post)war Ukraine (BURN)".
In the first rich and informative days, our colleagues from the BURN team of the KhSU Valentina Kalenchuk (Doctor of Philosophy, teacher of the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Psychology, History and Sociology - head of the Center for Psychological Stability and Well-being, project teacher) and Ruslana Bilous (candidate of psychological sciences, associate professor, assistant professor of the department) of psychology of the Faculty of Psychology, History and Sociology - the project teacher) visited the University of Latvia in order to study the course design and methods of training psychologists in Latvia to strengthen mental health and stability of Ukrainian society in the context of post-war reconstruction.
They got acquainted with the process of formation of psychological education andheard about the creation of a safe space and well-being, as well as what is necessary for the formation of a social-emotional sphere for students and teachers, which improves subject-subject interaction.
They also visited the crisis center and learned about the organization of telephone crisis assistance.
On the second day, there was a visit to the children's home, where they got acquainted with the provision of psychological assistance, support for children who have suffered from violence, and conducting an examination.
This is an important professional exchange and a significant contribution to building a stronger mental health and resilience of Ukrainian society.
