Kherson State University

On January 28, Kherson State University hosted a meeting of the team of participants of the Erasmus+ project “Digital University - Open Ukrainian Initiative” - DigiUni, chaired by the project coordinator from the university, Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskiy.

The meeting was attended by the deans of all faculties, staff members who administer the project, as well as participants in 7 training workshops that took place during 2024 at foreign partner universities.

“As the new year 2025 begins, we have to formulate our main goals for 2025 and the steps to achieve them. After the stage of studying and systematizing the experience of partners, we are moving on to the stage of developing educational courses for DigiPlatform, which is being created now. So we have to provide our vision of the content and create a register of performers from our university,” said Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskiy.

According to the Rector, KSU's academic staff, together with partners from other universities, are starting to work on filling DigiPlatform, an educational digital platform that will contain unique content.

“We see the platform as an opportunity for our students, as they get access to unique content created by different universities, as well as a good incentive for our teachers, as having your course on a platform of this level means recognition, competitiveness, and capitalization.

This project is already changing the educational ecosystem, even if it is not immediately noticeable. Thanks to the knowledge gained at workshops at foreign partner universities and our own experience, each of us is improving. We have already begun to qualitatively change the educational context on the KSUonline university platform,” the Rector said.

Vice-Rector for Digitalization Oleksandr Lemeshchuk reported on the results of a technical meeting on modeling the concept of the DigiPlatform platform, which is to be created as part of the DigiUni project. The meeting was held on January 23-24, 2025, at the Metropolitan Sheptytsky Center of the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv.

Yevheniia Revenko, Head of the Department of International Initiatives and Project Management, informed about the current tasks facing the KSU team as part of the work package on dissemination of the results and sustainability of the DigiUni project.

The next meeting is scheduled for early February.
