Biobibliographic publication "Stratonov Vasyl Nikolaevich: Biobibliographic Index"
On May 25, 2026, a meeting of the Academic Council of Kherson State University was held, during which the issue of granting the Academic Council's approval stamps to the university's scientific publications was considered.
According to the results of the review, the Academic Council of KhSU granted the approval stamp to the electronic biobibliographic publication "Stratonov Vasyl Mykolayovych: Biobibliographic Index" from the series "Scientists of Kherson State University".

"How to increase a scientist's publication activity or how to choose a journal for publication"
As part of the Days of Science of Kherson State University - 2026, the KhSU Scientific Library held an online event dedicated to topical issues of scientific and publishing activities and the choice of high-quality scientific journals for publishing research results.
The event was moderated by the Director of the KhSU Scientific Library, Alla Koval, who in her opening remarks emphasized the importance of developing a publication culture, academic integrity, and digital literacy of a modern scientist in the context of the transformation of the scientific environment.
The speaker of the event was Alina KRYVOBOKOVA - editor of the KhAI Scientific and Technical Library, a specialist in the preparation and support of scientific journals, work with international scientometric databases, and information and analytical support of scientific activities.

Kherson State University Science Days — 2026
As part of the Science Days of Kherson State University – 2026, the KhSU Scientific Library organized a scientific and practical online event dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence tools in self-study and scientific research.
The moderator of the event, Director of the KhSU Scientific Library Alla Koval, welcomed the participants and emphasized the relevance of the topic in the context of the rapid development of digital technologies and the transformation of modern science. In her opening remarks, she emphasized the importance of developing skills for the responsible and effective use of artificial intelligence tools in educational and research activities.
The speaker of the event was Vitaliy Kobets, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering of Kherson State University, who presented a lecture “Goal Setting, Prioritization, Planning, and Frameworks for Working with AI in Self-Study and Research.”

Director of the Kherson State University Scientific Library Alla Koval was awarded the Diploma of the Kherson City Military Administration
On May 18, 2026, a solemn extended meeting of the rectorate dedicated to the Days of Science in Ukraine was held in the Ivano-Frankivsk office of Kherson State University.
The event brought together representatives of the university administration, scientists, teaching staff, deans, heads of departments, young scientists, heads of structural units and employees of KhSU.
During the celebrations, the director of the KhSU Scientific Library, Alla Koval, was awarded the Diploma of the Head of the Kherson City Military Administration.

May 14, 2026 marks the 155th anniversary of the birth of Vasyl Semenovich Stefanyk, an outstanding Ukrainian writer, public and political figure.
On this occasion, the Scientific Library of the KhSU offers to view the virtual book exhibition "The Unsurpassed Master of the Short Story - Vasyl Stefanyk."
The exhibition contains literature that highlights the life and creative path of the writer, his works.

Virtual book exhibition "Bukovyna Genius"
May 5 marks the 190th anniversary of the birth of Sydor Vorobkevych, a Ukrainian writer, composer, teacher, musical and cultural figure, Orthodox Bukovinian priest and artist.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the famous Bukovinian writer and composer, the Scientific Library of KSU presents a virtual book exhibition "Bukovinian Genius".
The exhibition presents literature on the history of the life and work of the outstanding Ukrainian writer, composer, teacher, musical and cultural figure, Orthodox Bukovinian priest and artist, written by authors of different eras, which will allow you to expand your knowledge about Sydor Vorobkevych.

World Press Freedom Day is celebrated annually on May 3. The date was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly back in 1993 as a response to the Windhoek Declaration adopted in Namibia – a call to governments of all countries of the world to ensure freedom and pluralism of the press.
This day honors the memory of journalists from different parts of the world who paid with their lives for their professional activities.

New addition to the collection of the Scientific Library of KSU
The Scientific Library of Kherson State University has been replenished with a new educational publication - a practical course on academic integrity.
The library has received a textbook "Practical Course on Academic Integrity: A Guide for Future PhDs in the Space of Honest Science", the authors of which are Serhiy Omelchuk and Anastasia Kuzmenko.

Employees of the KSU Scientific Library joined the Open4UA project seminar
Employees of the Scientific Library of Kherson State University took part in the fifth online seminar of the Open4UA project, dedicated to the implementation of the principles of open science at the institutional level.
As part of the event, the project team presented the results of piloting the toolkit for the development of open science in higher education institutions of Ukraine. The experience of testing at three universities was highlighted, key challenges, opportunities for scaling up and prospects for further implementation of the project's achievements were outlined. Participants also learned about the preparation of the final Open4UA forum, which will be held in Kyiv.

Virtual exhibition “Chernobyl Disaster: 40 Years of Pain, Sorrow, Memory and Honor…”
To mark the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, the staff of the Scientific Library of KhSU has prepared a virtual exhibition “Chernobyl Disaster: 40 Years of Pain, Sorrow, Memory and Honor…” dedicated to one of the most tragic pages in the history of Ukraine and the world.
The virtual exhibition is designed to recall the events of April 1986, highlight the causes and consequences of the disaster, and honor the courage and self-sacrifice of those who stood up to protect humanity from an invisible threat. The presented materials include documentary evidence, scientific research, eyewitness memories, and works of art that reflect on the Chernobyl tragedy.
We invite everyone who wants to familiarize themselves with the materials of the exhibition, join in preserving historical memory, and pay tribute to the victims and heroes of Chernobyl.
We remember. We honor. We do not forget.

A meeting was held at Kherson State University with editors-in-chief and members of the editorial boards of scientific professional publications. The event was hosted by the head of the intellectual property department, Valeria Blakh. The director of the Scientific Library, Alla Koval, also joined the discussion.
The meeting focused on continuing systematic work to update and bring the university's scientific publications into line with new requirements.
