The Department of Olympic and Professional Sports was established at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports on September 1, 2004 (Order No. 428-D of June 10, 2004).
The main activity of the department is to organize and implement the educational process for training specialists in physical culture and sports, coaches in various sports, and physical education teachers.
The Department of Olympic and Professional Sports is the graduating department for students majoring in A7 Physical Culture and Sports, who are studying to obtain a bachelor's or master's degree in the educational and professional programs “Physical Culture and Sports.”
The effectiveness of the educational process is linked to the qualifications of the department's scientific and teaching staff. To ensure the high quality of the educational process, the department employs teachers with scientific degrees and academic titles, as well as teachers with practical work experience.
The staff of the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports:
Currently, the department employs six full-time academic staff members and one part-time staff member.
1. Kateryna Drobot, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor, Head of the Department.
2. Olga Romanivna Zadorozhna - Doctor of Science in Physical Education and Sports, Professor, Master of Sports of Ukraine in Fencing;
3. Oleksandr Serhiyovych Edelev - Candidate of Science in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor, National Category Judge in Athletics;
4. Titova Hanna Volodymyrivna - Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor, Master of Sports of Ukraine in Acrobatics;
5. Natalia Zinovievna Hutsul - Candidate of Science in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor, Master of Sports of Ukraine in WPKA kickboxing;
6. Vasyl Mikhailovich Khlopetsky - Candidate of Science in Physical Education and Sports, Senior Lecturer, Master of Sports of Ukraine in Kurash wrestling;
Part-time:
