On June 9, a lecture-discussion "Legal issues and problems of realization of information rights of citizens in the conditions of modern transformations of Ukraine" was held for students and teachers of the Faculty of Business and Law and the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology and Journalism of Kherson State University.

Speakers were Viktor Barvitsky, a representative of the Commissioner for the Observance of the Right to Information and Representation in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, Oleksandr Ostapenko, a representative of the Commissioner for the Southern Regions, with the participation of Olena Kornitska public of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Oksana Tropina.

It is very important that the representatives of the Ombudsman's Office chose Kherson State University as a platform for communication with young people. "We are always happy to receive interesting guests at the university, because communication with successful experienced people enriches students, expands their horizons and opportunities to choose the future trajectory of development," said KSU Rector Alexander Spivakovsky and encouraged young people to discuss.

During the conversation with students, the Commissioners outlined the directions of their activities, told about human rights violations, which are most often recorded in the Kherson region. And also - in what areas students can do an internship in the structures of the Office and what is needed for this. Roman Melnyk, Doctor of Law, Professor, our partner, submitted a collection of articles by German, Ukrainian and Kazakh colleagues-lawyers to the Department of Public and International Law and Law Enforcement of Kherson State University. Serhiy Skryl, our chairman of the attestation commission on OPP International Law, also had the opportunity to evaluate the scientific work. Mr. Igor is acting Head of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in the Kherson Region, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. This organization works closely with KSU. One third of employees are graduates of our school. Every student can become part of a powerful team.

Days of Science at Kherson State University continue, and today our applicants visited a science camp organized by the Scientific Society of students, graduate students, doctoral students and young scientists of KSU. Today is the first part of the science camp. A wonderful meeting with representatives of scientific societies of faculties: business and law; computer science, physics and mathematics; biology, geography and ecology; physical education and sports.

Wonderful motivational speeches by Oleksandr Spryn, Yuriy Kaparulin, Pravotorova Olga and Lyudmyla Kharchenko-Baranetska about the secrets of their own success, work with gifted youth and the lives of real researchers.

We also got acquainted with students who take an active part in conferences, publish abstracts and articles, are participants and winners of competitions!

Project "Legal assessment of the events of the Holodomor-Genocide of 1932-1933 in the South of Ukraine" ("Legal assessment of events Famine-Genocide of 1932-1933 in the South of Ukraine"), prepared by scientists of the Faculty of History and Law of Kherson State University: Head of the Department , Candidate of Historical Sciences, Natalia Kuzova (Project Manager), Professor, Doctor of Law, Olga Pravotorova, Professor, Doctor of Historical Sciences Serhiy Vodotyka, Associate Professor, Candidate of Law, Iryna Ryzhenko, took part in the competition and received a grant from the Ukrainian Institute of Canada (Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies) at the University of Alberta, which is the center of Ukrainian studies in Canada, and the Alexander and Helen Kulahyn Endowment Fund with the support of the Ukrainian Research and Education Center for Holodomor Studies (HREC in Ukraine). The purpose of the project: preparation of an expert opinion, which contains a legal assessment of the actions of the USSR authorities against the citizens of the USSR in 1930-1934, which led to the Holodomor of 1932-1933 on the example of specific facts that took place in southern Ukraine. It is planned that the expert opinion will contain historical and legal information on the mechanism of actions that can be classified as genocide of the Ukrainian people and genocide of citizens of the USSR.

The Regional Local Center for Free Secondary Legal Aid recently hosted a meeting of the working group on the implementation of the pilot project “Recovery Program for Juveniles Suspected of Committing a Criminal Offense. It was visited by students of the 4th year of international law FiBP KSU Kashicheva I. and Pogosova A., who are undergoing undergraduate practice there, together with the curator, Benitska A. We thank Marina Yeliseyeva and Elena Ipatenko for interesting experience for further legal activity.

In order to summarize the results for April 2021 and compare the results with the set goals on May 6 on the basis of the Regional Center for the provision of BVPD in the Kherson region held a meeting of volunteers of the BPD system.

Today, May 6, students of the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology and Journalism and local media met with Ukrainian politician, scientist, public figure, People's Deputy of the VIII convocation, Commissioner for State Language Protection Taras Kremen in the Transformer Hall of the Scientific Library of Kherson State University.

Kherson State University has a strong base of well-known scholars who have contributed to the development, promotion and support of the Ukrainian language. "It is quite natural that we are ready to become a platform where the initiatives of the Office of the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language will be picked up," said KSU Rector Oleksandr Spivakovsky.

We continue the good traditions of cooperation with the Kherson faculty of ODUVS Today we took part in the round table "Ukraine - NATO: features of non-military cooperation" (Zoom platform).
